I've eaten both in Italy.
I think it was the Brits who were taken aback at you guys eating frog (legs) and they made the big deal of it and the "tag" has stuck.

I am from Poland and you can find some snails and frogs in our restaurants too. It is not a French food but French people are pretty much the only one having it like some kind of"national food"

They do serve snails in restaurants here in the U.S.A. and not just in French restaurants, and several restaurants serve frog legs....as a matter of fact I eat them quite often....and one of the best places I have ever eaten frog legs was Jack Whites in New Orleans, they were the size of large chicken leg quarters and the BEST.....

I live in America and frogs are often on several restaurants menus, especially in the south where frog legs are a big hit. I have had escargot before, and it has always been at French restaurants. Personally, I think it is quite yummy with garlic, mushrooms and a butter/white wine sauce!

I've never been outside of the U.S.A., never eaten in a French restaurant, and have eaten both.

I know the chinese like snails and serve them in their homes, but I don't know about frogs legs, I would imagine that they would prepare them as well.
