Every time im in Science class we usually talk about how the Earth is formed and how water is created and all these theories and how there were continents because those volcanoes which were in the ocean and got dried up and bla bla bla. It's really confusing me. Im 14 and im pretty much confused about religion, and it feels like im commiting a big sin when I honestly have no idea anymore and I used to be so faithful towards it. And now the more I learn about Science, the more I think that Science is pretty much everything and like there isn't any God. But at the same time I feel like if there is Science, than someone has to be responsible for all of this.

What are your opinions?

You are really on the right track. Science is a process. The process how the earth was formed, how water is created and those volcanoes activities etc. etc.

The universe is so complex and and wonderful to be existed just like that. Somebody who is very powerful must be behind all of those process. He is what we call God.

Properly understood, there is NO CONFLICT between "Earth Science" and the Bible.

That things happen a particular way does not deny the "hand of God" in creation.

I have done laboratory experimentation with antimatter, you know, the "positively charged electrons" of science fiction... they're real. I have also been studying the New Testament for 24 years IN GREEK.

These things are not opposed to one another. Only when one or the other is misinterpreted or misrepresented do we see conflict.

For starters, the BIBLE DOES NOT SAY that the earth is 6000 years old. That was the work of a couple 17th century theologians and reflects a gross misuse and misinterpretation of the scriptures. By its definition, they had to take dozens of scriptures OUT OF CONTEXT, shuffle them together like a deck of playing cards, and selectively deal them out to come up with their numbers.

You are on the right track. The order and the magnificence you see is His Majesty's doing. Science is the study of God's creation. Don't believe everything they tell you in class. What standards are they using to say something is fact or not. We have more evidence for the Flood than for evolution yet those who make school textbooks rule out the Flood as being history. Also, you and I have a soul which is the moral part of our being. Our conscience if you will. A lion may kill a human being and say to himself I just had a good lunch. There was no right and wrong going on with that lion.

As Voodoid said, "Welcome to reason, kid." HOWEVER, tread carefully! Even science takes leaps of faith; research is colored by reigning paradigms and scientists' values.

I am not religious, so all you theists and anti-theists just get off me for a minute, and let's be honest!

There are mysteries, conundrums, inconsistencies, and paradoxes left in this universe - things to which science cannot answer, things to which the human senses are numb - but it is in these things that creativity, art, beauty, and wonder are born and thrive. Do not let them be choked out of you by modern science and a superficial public school education. People who subscribe to all the precepts of modern science are not necessarily happier or more enlightened than religious people (in fact, I'm compelled to argue the opposite, even though Bible-thumpers are particularly irritating). Billions of years, primordial ooze, and macro evolution are tricky things around which to wrap one's head... as is an omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, benevolent God.

As I said, tread carefully. Keep your mind open. Take your time. The way will come to you.

... and for all you Bible-bashers, I am not implying that the way is with Jesus Christ, so "quicherbitchin'" and let the kid grow.

From a Christian point of view, I know we have a Creator. But after the earth was created, I am sure some of these events were set in motion so that certain waters were dried up, islands appeared, volcanoes erupted causing natural changes on the earth. It still happens today. But I believe someone (God) had to set these things in motion. Also, man's choices over the centuries have caused the earth to change, also.

Okay, take a deep breath. Everything's going to be just fine.
Science is fact and can be easily proven in any situation. Religion however is not and is basically defined as a faith. Every christian is brainwashed into thinking god made everything but it's oh so far from the truth. Don't fall into the close mindedness of religion. You want faith then take it, but don't succumb to the crap they try and feed to you.

from atheist point of view , science is how we came.

to be a reasonable religious point of view , SCIENCE EXPLAIN how we came about.

if there's stuff that happen and defy science , then perhaps its not really god action , but some bug in our universe... think of computer bug / glitch.

till now , most of the stuff that happen to us CAN be explain by science , except for a few like how we came about .

most people don't know how God came about too and said he was there all along. well if that's possible , atheist also can claim universe was there all along .

anyway , why earth rotate , why is there death , why does earth rotate around the sun , why is there rain , rainbow , wind , lightning and all , in religious point of view , you can surely say god create all this.

but in scientific point of view , we can explain how these came about , sure , i admit we don't understand them fully for some .

but this shows that whatever God gave us , it is explainable by science , surely he wouldnt do something to confuse us deliberately .

so depending your point of view , some chrisitan actually agree with evolutions .

you can say that god use evolution to create human , and he certainly know human can be create this way since he know everythign and can see into the future.

however they are some that insist human are made with some stuff and poof , become human.

well you just wait , if you live long enough and science prove how human actually came about , you will see these very same people saying that god create us this way and yada yada apologetic crap.

seriously these very same peopel will also give me thumbs down .

i don't why there are so many losers who cant accept facts. same people who imprisioned galileo when he prove earth rotate around sun.

he could be wrong , but at least you can see what these people can do to hide facts and delude innocent mind.

This is exactly what the people in charge wish to do...to shove their beliefs onto students.
They do not believe God exists, nor created this world, or man.
It IS a black or white decision...science written by man, or God, who MADE man.
Seriously, get into theological studies. The OLDER theology, not the modern stuff, because the modern theologians have begun to doubt, and lose faith.
Read and memorize Jude 3. Live it!

You have a lifetime to study. Many people and books will tell you this and that, science and religion included. You decide, that' swhat growing up is all about. I am 40 and still undecided, the cosmos is a wonderful mystery, and I dont feel 'guilty' for exploring options and beliefs and theories and study, I feel thankful for my freedom of thought in the country in which live, I'm not bullied by atheists or religionists.

hey congratulations, it sounds like your starting to think for yourself, now you'll be able to make your own decisions.

personally I don't believe in god, this isn't wrong at all, theres a lot of people who think like me.

but everyone is different, if you find a contradiction between science and the bible do some research, listen to priests, and science teachers, they'll both have different opinions which is great, you just have to decide if you believe 1 more than the other or if you think something completely different happened.

good luck and congratulations again on thinking outside of the box
