I have [Wm] on my hip, which is the abbreviation for William, my fiance's name.
Stupid idea right?
Wrong, even if we do break up, he will always be the person that rescued me.
He will always be the only person to care for me, and protect me from my parents, and thats a whole lot.

I would not. Reason if you break up your stuck with this guys name on your body for the rest of your life. Most people put there children's name on there body not there partner. If you want a tattoo make sure that you get something you really like do not settle, put it in a place that if you need to wear a formal dress this tattoo is not killing the whole dress. Have it done by a professional who you have seen his work.
Give this some thought as you can not take it back after it is done.

I have my husband's name tattooed on my lower back, but it is in chinese writing. Have you been with your partner a long time? Tattoo's are for life if you broke up with your partner would you still want his name on you forever!! Before making your decision have a good think about it. Do not be pressurised into doing something you are not comfortable with!

Got her name and her portrait
I did it for me and not as a request from her
Got my daughter's name and her portrait and the names of my two grandchildren and I am now designing the third grandchild's name to go on
I.m 55 and love all of my tattoo's and enjoy the miles on the Harley. I hope to ride that for many years to come and when I finally have to give it up maybe when I'm very, very old I will just grow up but until then the tattoos will remain and increase in number as will the miles on the bike
Keep it young out there

Yes I would. If we were married. I love tattoos and I have already thought about what kind of tattoo I would get when I get married. I plan on getting a tattoo for my husband and one for each of my children when I have them. I already have two tattoos and another one planned.
Tattoo #1 - baby white tiger on my ankle
Tattoo #2 - Dragonfly on my wrist
Tattoo #3 (still in the planning stage) - The RJA Guardian Angel on my shoulder

I remember when i was getting a tattoo in hawaii the artist and i were talking and the general opinion is unless it is your parents, your children or your pet don't get a name tattooed on your body. you really want to "Show" someone you love them by getting their name on your body? talk about stalking. You could do the whole white trash pam anderson thing and get the name on your ring finger. I love my husband with all my heart, but i let my wedding ring do the speaking on that part and if he turns into a major *** later in life it is easy to remove and forget about.

I def. would'nt get the name but something that reminds you of each other. Like say you call him penguin, then you could always get a little penguin. I think getting a partners named tattooed on you it's a curse to the relationship.

I have my kids' names on my back, but they will always be my kids no matter what whether they like it or not.
But i do not have my hubby's name on my body, i thought about putting him on the tree, but i decided against it. I love him to bits and don't intend on ever being without him, but you never know what could happen in time.
It's never a good idea really.

As a tattooist, I try to discourage people impulsively putting on names (unless it's obvious a lot of thought went into it) for some very good reasons. One... I cover too many up, 'cause they decided to break up, and Two, 'cause you'll get tired of having it read or misread to you, over and over, by total strangers. The names that are usually safe are your kids or loved ones (deceased).

I would never tattoo my husband name on my body, the only names I have tattooed on me is my mother who I lost at a young age, and my best friend who I have known since I was a little kid and she knew EVERYTHING about me and I lost her also.
My husband is my world, I have a symbolic item tattooed on me that represents us, heaven forbid something should happen to us, only I would know what it means.
I think you should only put your parents or kids name on your body.
