It is this way because of the lack of womens importance in the male perspective
Its in Refrence to the man as the Head of the Family
and the woman in second place as the Mother
Even today IRS automatically considers the MALE as the head of house hold and when you receive letters,
its Mr. and Mrs.
Past
present and
Future
Its sexism,
Plain and simple
** Althought yes i believe God is neither man nor woman he is a supreme being.

There are so many scriptures in the Bible related to God being male that I could hardly list them. If you have been Christian long, I am sure you know this! As a Christian, I am aware that the one who died for me was Jesus Christ... The scriptures calling God father are abundant! How can you be a christian if you want to change the word of God? How can you believe in Christ, if you do not believe the Bible? If God were female.. it would say goddess since those are titles not names. The name of God is male in all the languages it has been translated in.
Feminism has no place in the Christian church! Equal rights for everyone has nothing to do with changing the word of god to fit our own agenda!

It doesnt specify but its infered from when Jesus says his father, making it known to people that the divine is a male being. However in the orignal bibles and the gnostic bibles at the beginging of creation God didnt know what to put on the earth and needed help so he called upon the Goddess Sophie for aid and together they made everything, later on mary magdalene was said to be the goddess incarnate like jesus was the god incarnate. Whether this is true or not isnt known but whether it is or not it goes to show you that they tried to keep a goddess in the religion but was eventually taken out.

Gender did not exist until God created it.
God is neither "Divine Father" nor "Divine Mother". He is "Divine Creator."
Still, it seems rather rude to call God "It"...
God is my Father, and my Mother, my Best Friend, my Confidante, my Counselor, Lover of my Spirit...
my All in All.
When I speak to God, I address God as "Lord."
The Bible refers to God as the "Everlasting Father" but it never limits God to a strictly masculine role.
The only exception is Jesus, Who did come to us in the body of a Man...but then, how many people, do you think, would have listened to Him if He had arrived as a baby girl?
Jesus did teach His disciples to think of God as a Father...again, that was pretty enlightened thinking for His time, bringing God close enough to call "Daddy", dispelling the image of God as a man on a throne hurling thunderbolts.
Besides, crucifying a woman would have been out of the question.
Other than that, I don't see any reason at all why you can't call God "Mother" or "Goddess" if you want to.
God knows Who you mean...

Supposedly your god is of either gender but due to the rather patriarchal nature of the religion has always been talked about and shown as a man.
If you want to call god a woman, go right ahead. In fact it's my belief that if there was a god she'd be black.

God is a Man. He made Adam in His image. Adam was a man. Jesus calls Him Father many times in the Bible. As a matter of fact I can't even list every verse that calls God Father in the Bible.
...Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you

you cant modify or invent your own version of God in order to help you beleive in Him, or you are
A) limiting your view of him
B) greatly offending him
he is so much higher..
So much that he said it in the 10 commandments, look it up, here is some of it.
exodus 20
"You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them
the best way to view God is to look At Jesus. He is God in human form.
This is the correct BIBLICAL representation of Jesus, not some 'mother' what your actually doing is trying to mix paganism, (worship of nature) in with Christianity, which is not true Christianity at all.
Just look to jesus friend

Christians follow Jesus' example of his life on earth, as our way to live.
Jesus always referred to God as "Our Father."
When Jesus was asked how we should pray, Jesus gave us a model at Mathew 6:9 "“YOU must pray, then, this way:
“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified."
By calling God, Mother, you are being disrespectful and dishonoring the work Jesus performed for his father here on Earth. If it didn't matter what we called him, then surely somewhere in the Bible God would be referred to as mother. He is not. He is always referred to as Father.
We must always follow what the Bible says. It is the ultimate authority on how we can live a spiritual life pleasing to the only true God. Do not be misled by false Christians.
Mathew 7:15-23
“Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; 18 a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. 19 Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Really, then, by their fruits YOU will recognize those [men].
21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

You man call HIM anything you so chose. If you wish to disregard what the scriptures say, then why bother calling your self a Christian. To the best of my Knowledge, it was a HE who was nailed to the cross, not a her. And please try to educate yourself on matters before you speak on them, The Creator God was in recorded history while the land we call Grease was nothing more than a pile of mud huts, If anyone "copied" it would not have been the God of the Bible.
