You are a great friend but you have to understand this from her point of view. She has felt like a little kid her entire life. She cannot wear some of the cute summer tops that are out, she probably cries every time she opens a victoria's secret catalogue because she can't wear the anything sexy and most of all she just doesn't feel sexy. It's very important for a woman to feel sexy. How do I know? I was right where she was. With all the money she spends on push up bras ($50-$75 each), you actually save money in the long run. I found a great doctor that I trusted. A good doctor will no violate her small frame with huge breasts, but instad balance out her hips, giving her proportioned curves. Make sure she gets it under the muscle for a natural look. Those horror stories are few and far between and are usually b/c someone tried to find a cheap doctor. I am so happy I did it. It's been over 2 years now and people only know they are fake if I tell them. I can wear anything I want and I love trying on clothes and cute tops. With a good boob job, you can wear whatever bra you want, even the cute little cheap ones from Wal-Mart. Support her in this endeavor, it will change her life.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting breast implants and if it makes you happy then you should seriously consider it. Talk it over with a doctor to see if you're in good health, and discuss the specific details of the procedure. A doctor should be able to tell you when us too big, and if you go too big that's when you get health problems. As someone before said, the surgeries that turn out badly are usually pretty extreme. You only want to go about a b or c (idk what size you're at now) which is hardly extreme. I'm just letting you know though, I don't know what you look like but a b can be quite small. I'm a b cup and I'm so flat chested I look like a fat little ten year old :(. I too want implants, and I'm considering saline. Yes, they can burst as can silicone, but saline isn't dangerous and it will just be absourbed into your blood stream. The material you use for your implants is one of the details you should talk to your doctor about. As for anyone going on the "love your body" rant: you either love your body or you don't. And if you don't, you probably never will unless you change it, at least a little. Yeah, it kind of sucks but that's just how it is. I personally find it hard to love my body with the recent media switch where you see a lot of full figured women boasting about how great curves are. Not everyone's curvy >:(

There are down sides,to having this done. Beside the cost if something goes wrong?? There to big for a small person an then there likes grapefruit hard. As so the risk of infection, rejection, An the cost of replacement if they don't look good as not straight or centered. Some look ok if you want someone that goes around showing them off an being hit on for all the wrong reasons?? An the scars of repeated replacement so the toplass beaches are out an lights off. As there like tires on a car they have to be replaced after a while. Myself i won't date if they have them there fake & phony??Just my humble thought. Natural is much nicer>

Well my wife did the same thing 6 years ago, very self conscious about her lack of breast and coming out of the shower covered up was just a few of the reasons she did it, she also wanted to wear a bikini and in general be more sexy. Fast foward 6 years and $6,000 it was the best thing she could have done. Her self image/confidence soared and in her eyes she is now complete. Did not change her outlook on life either, just reinforced her confidence and we couldn't be happier.

Although I agree with you, and overall the operation is very safe these days, most people recommend getting the implants after having kids. Sometimes you cannot breast feed after having implants, and sometimes it is severe discomfort cause the breasts fill with milk and put major pressure against the implants during pregnancy. BUT... she has to do what makes her feel good. You should support her in her decision. Life is way to short to be very unhappy and insecure. If this makes life happy for her, then go for it.

I wouldn't have any surgery like that or recommend it to anyone else unless it was reconstructive (from a deformity, earlier surgery or injury). I have a big, honking aquiline nose -- the sort of hawk's beak thing -- and it shocked the heck out of me when my parents offered to pay for me to have it shaved down (as a graduation present! Congratulations -- even your mom thinks you're ugly. Gee, thanks!). If God and/or genes gave that to me, I'm fine with it. I'm a guy, and I'm pretty ugly anyways, and I guess I kindof like looking a little different so that's okay with me. (If I wanted to look like less of a freak, I'd first cut my waist-length hair.)
As for your friend... obviously she's insecure and thinks implants will make her feel more feminine. But any surgery has risks and I would certainly advise against it. If she's, ah, petite, maybe you should get her some information about what it's like to have to carry the weight of those implants around 24 hours a day. Modest ones might not seem very heavy, but I've heard women who say it's like waking up with a stack of bricks on their chest -- they're always out of breath.
If she is determined to have expensive (and destructive) surgery, convince her to try a pair of those "external implants" first. See if they change the way she feels about herself, and if she can wear them 24 hours a day without discomfort.
Oh, and maybe get some videos of operations to gross her out. Dirty trick, but it's in the best interest of your friend, right?

if it was for breast implants, and i was flat chested, then i would say yes, but I'm not, and I've got big thy's so I'm gonna say yes.
i think the only reason why someone would do their boobs or have a tummy tuck or lypo, or something like that, is by two things really, their own opinion on them selves, and what others think (and that also includes society's overall appearance requirements)

It's her choice, you're just there for the ride.
Self esteem is extremely important, and if spending some cash so that I could finally be the confident person I know I am inside, then it;s money well spent, especially on a proceedure that is reversable.

Breast implants make any woman look stupid, no matter how many degrees she has.
I think your friend should focus on other things than her looks. Tell her to be happy the way she is.
There are worst looking women than her out there.
Besides, sucking on fake breasts is like drinking artificial fruit juice.

I would only do it if it was something more serious then wanting bigger breast. Like if your born with something that NEEDS to be fixed no question, Or if you get into a accident. I personally wouldnt just do it for breasts if your chest is all you have to worry about in my opinion your pretty lucky.
