Why do people on these boards call people racist or bigots when all the American people want is for our laws to be obayed.
An example: Immigration. When we want legal immigration but NOT illegal immigration.

Because they are trying to force us into accepting illegal immigrants. They think being called those names will shut us up.

Its usually because they have an ineffectual argument, there is no defense for breaking the law and everybody knows it.
Some resort to calling people racist and some resort to the argument of just how important are immigration laws anyway. I have even read a few who use the civil rights argument with Martin Luther King Jr. which I always find amusing - if you can't tell the difference between civil rights movement for African Americans in the 50's and 60's and rights for people who come here illegally (on their own) then you have bigger problems than just an ineffectual argument....
Not all pros do this many are straight forward with their support and justify it with NAFTA and lack of enforcement in the United States (and they are right)......

I don't have the answer, but I don't like hearing anyone being called those names. I'm with you - legal immigration is fine with me, but not illegal. You want to come to our country? No problem; the welcome mat is out. However - don't come with your hand out. Come prepared to be a productive member of society. Don't expect to have all your needs met, but do expect that you'll be working and learning English - if you haven't learned it already. I can't think of another country that bends over backward for immigrants like the US does. If I went to (pick a country) not only would they not provide me (at no charge) an interpreter, I certainly would not expect them to. We have so many needs here in our country as it is, but we spend millions upon millions helping the illegal immigrants. It's like watching your own child go without, while you clothe, feed and house a kid down the street. While I realize that some people are looking to escape from the horrors in another part of the world in coming here, there are many more that simply want a better life. That's not a bad reason to come here, but let's do a little more screening before the whole world comes here. Prioritize! Make sure that those who come are prepared to be a productive member of society, and aren't going to burden us financially. Our own needs must be met first, before we decide that the whole world is our responsibility.

They call you names because they want to put you on the defensive. There are few racists really, but every single human on earth is a bigot. Next time someone calls you a racist, just say, "...and so are you, now what ?" Shall we dance?

it's the dance they do to try to take the focus off the fact that they don't have a valid argument as to why some people find it necessary to come here illegally when so many come here legally.
the race card and calling people bigots is always the move they use

I would call racist or bigots those who start calling out ethnic groups.
example: Those Mexicans should get out. We don't want anymore Mexicans.
I find that kinda racist.
I too agree with you, if you want to come into this country come here legally. We have enough illegal immigrants.

I agree. I am not racist I am just angry that they are coming over here illegally and not doing it the legal way. I am angry that they are getting away with it government wise and nothing is being done about it.

When they are unable to come out with a sensible answer or reason why Illegal should be allowed to stay.
All you seem to see is posts 'shouting' about them taking over or saying impolite things about other races. Yet when you ask them in a post to justify their reason suddenly they go all quiet.
