That only applies inside city limits, most of all states, have no limit of how many dogs you can have at one time if you live outside city limits, also city animal ordinaces dont apply either
I live in lawton ok, where the city ordance just got stricter
use all you had to have is a permit wich is one time fee of 15 dollars, as long as you kept the rabies vacc current and uptodate, if late you had to pay the fee again,
the fee went up to 100 dollars for first time liscense/city permit
75 dollars every year after that no matter if you kept your rabies vacc current
now added is a nueter/spay law, if your dogs not nuetred then you have to pay for a BAT permit becuase it condiserd breedable Breeders Advertising Transfere permint and it cost 250 dollars a year,
if you get caught with your dog and its not nuetred and you dont have a BAT permit its a 1000 fine, and your allowed to breed only one time a year, and it to is a 1000 dollar fine
if you get cught with more than four dog with a the special permite for owning a fourth dog plus they take all your dogs and fine you 90 dollars for everyone and a 1000 fine plus court cost plus billed for them being put to sleep and also billed for housing confinment until they are uthanized
also for every puppie you have you have to report them to the city what gender and there colors, you are required to provide a health certificate wich is areound 55 dollars and the vet also charges 17.50 for the health check plus you have their rabbies shots before you can sell advertise or give them away and uptodate records papers to show shots,
now this part sucks, if you get caught, giving them away, the will confiscate all you puppies and charge you 500 dollars for each puppy that is not in there database plus 90 dollars for each puppy for impoundment and you get 30 days or more in jail
I tell you this law stinks and is the biggest scam the city has pulled,
there should be know law of how many dogs you can own if you live outside city limits, I know becuase my grandmother owns 2 black labs and a litter of 7 fox terriors
but still check with other people besides the city animal welfare becuase they will target you and try to pull the stupidest crap say they can pockets some extra cash

You would have to get out of a city and into an unincorporated part of the county. Most county's a much more lax then cities. Especially in farm country. I never had more then four dogs but at one time I had thirteen cats. It was legal in the county I lived in. There is no way you could have found a mouse in my hay or anywhere around the house. Also had three horses, a goat, chickens and I raised pigs.

You have to look at the local laws for each city or town.
I don't think my town has a law but I live in a communuity with a home owners association that limits two dogs per household. I knew before hand about this but two dogs is all I wanted anyway.

well in my town, we dont need no liscences or stuff, or permits. this is in OREGON, and u can have how ever many u want, as long they are in proper care: fed right, vaccines up to date, wormed, and so on u know what i mean....
plus in a safe, fenced up area if u have several dogs, but no permits or anything
my grandparents have like 7 cats, 2 ferrets, 3 dogs, one lizard, in good care

I just have to have them all licensed. I have five and thinking about a sixth. I have another friend with seven thinking about an eight. We are always saying no more but always keep in mind one may come along that needs us.
All areas are different. You have to check with each locality.
