Snap, Snap. I'm snapping my fingers, attempting to snap you out of the zombie like trance that mass advertising has you in.

Don't be a lemming, don't follow the others over the sea cliff.

Just asking this question puts you in peril from the Starbucks police. Quick, barricade the door and make a cup of Nescafe.

Beware that fellow co-workers and neighbors may shun you for this but it is in the best interests of your financial picture.

Go to rehab if neccessary but break the $4 cup of coffee habit. Take No Doze if you can't handle the caffiene withdrawal.

You can do it. Set yourself free from the relentless brainwashing from the Madison Ave. advertising companies. You can live without it!

Okay consider this. How much do they charge for an ordinary coffee or cafe latte?

If an ordinary Cafe Latte costs $2.80 - 3.00, then you would have paid an extra 50 - 70 cents for the ice cream and cream. They have to cover their costs for the extra stuff.

Don't know why you paid it, but it bothers me when I hear coworkers talking about their money problems and I see them with a Starbucks about twice a day. Think about it...at 3.50 a piece, at least one a day for 5 days a week..over a year that is $910. More if you buy more than that amount.

I don't know - I get all my coffees from 7-11 or one of their competitors. I usually pay $1.30 for a large latte or cappuchino, and less for a refill. To me it tastes just as good, and it's easier on the wallet. Especially if you have one every day while going to work.

Because you bought it and have defined what the consumer is willing to spend.

This is elementary economics
