Hello everyone

I am a new Playstation 3 owner who is a little concerned about the heat.

Now surprisingly, the area of concern is not the back, where the cable inputs and LAN plug is, nor is it the top of the console (when placed vertically).

The area in question is on the top, back side of the console. The back side, referring to the side where you would place the console on horizontally, and the top being the disc tray side.

Do you see the two vents place apart like speakers in that area? That is the area. It is actually hot to touch. It is like that even when no disc is inserted.

Does anyone else have that problem? I understand that different people may have different definitions of what is hot or 'too hot', but do any other users out there 'feel the heat' in that area? Is it something to be concerned about?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You might have some internal fan problems. its either that the fan is not working properly or that it is too dusty to actually get fresh ait inside ur PS3.
if this is not the issue then try putting it on concrete floor so that it gets colder and not on the carpet.

If i'm reading your question correctly, then i think you're ok. Be sure you're giving plenty of room to breath and it should be fine. (or buy a cooler to be sure)
Might use mine to keep my toes warm in the winter.
