*be financially solvent
*be prepared to live within or in close proximity (subject to approval) to the Police area
*meet the requisite standard of physical fitness with good

Be honest, caring, respectful, loving of ALL humans. Be able to make snap decisions that may haunt you the rest of your life. Have the mental stability to see the absolute worst of the human animal, and still be able to go home and treat your family the right way. If you drink now, stop, get that crutch out of your mind. Be a good listener, there are three sides to every story, one person, the other person and the complete truth (only GOD knows). Keep your self in great shape, keep your mind and body well tuned. and most of all, remember,
YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW, you are there to enforce it. Lead by example, show others how they should act.

Hold a strong passion and respect for the law itself. Don't put all your emotions into, be logical and realistic with it! No one or nothing is above the law we are all equals when it comes to the law. Carry out the enforcement properly.

I'm not sure that agression is really something you need....here Mr Aggressive Man, take this gun....
Honesty, patience, attention to detail, no history of mental illness or personality defects & no criminal history SHOULD be prerequisites but I don't know if they are.

For you to be a cop, you should not have any eye problem, you should be strong and intelligent to defeat all the criminals and if you really like the job, am sure that you'll become one.

Be aware of your surroundings, know the area at a call and know the safest route out, know your enemy, good eye sight, good hand and body coordination, good at running, good at self defense, need to be street smart, an accurate shoot, etc...

it really doesn't matter what you have now. except you'll need to have perfect vision and you can't have any previous offenses and no mental disorders. other than that the training you do do everything else...
