Caffeine helps to boost the effect of the Tylenol. If you check the the active ingredients in Excedrin those are 2 of the main ingredients, caffeine and acetaminophen(aka Tylenol) the other being aspirin.

Depending on what you're taking the Tylenol for, the coffee could actually increase the effectiveness of the drug.

I've done that a lot of times. I'll take 2 extra strength Tylenol and a 200mg caffeine pill and it will help my headache a lot.

I've never heard of that but I hope your not caffeine sensitive.

I think the worst that could happen is the taste would not be as pleasant. It won't kill you but like all medications it should be taken with a full glass of water instead, for the kidneys sake.
