Try a cat repellent on the areas you don't want them to go, sometimes paprika or something hot and spicy can be a good repellent and use like a catnip spray over the areas where you want them to go

try putting catnip spray on the scratching posts :) you can have a little spray bottle (make sure no chemicals or anything were in there! you can buy some for cheap at grocery stores and stuff) and fill it with water and when you catch them doing something theyre not supposed to do. SPRAY THEM! watch them and put their claws on the post by lifting them up underneath and putting their paws on the post and move them up and down in a scratching motion but not too hard. reward them (i suggest temptation cat treats by whisca's) when they use their post =) slowly but surely you should see results! good luck

Hello,DO NOT DE-CLAW,this is barbaric!! I would also try putting catnip on the scratching post, you can also buy scratchers that lie flat on the floor. If i can find it,i will send a link about sticky tape that you can put on furniture legs etc. I'm quite lucky,i have 4 cats who all use my various posts.

squirt them with a water pistal every time they scratch any thing but the scratching poles.
Never let them see you squirt them
they have to think what every they are scratching is wetting them.
cats hate waters it usually works.

use a water spray bottle and sqirt them when they do it and then wen they go near it.get the kittys to lay on their own beds,as you dont want them confused,if they do this wen ur not home, they should go into the laundry, til u get home.even at nite if ur sleeping if they do it,put them out.

Have them de-clawed. Call your Vet to see ho much that would cost. It is not expensive, and it is well worth it.
