The concern on climate change is not a selfish Western endeaver. It is an endeavor created by the idiotic/suicidal political elites that sadly run the West. The leaders in China and India must be laughing their asses off at the dumbasses that run the West.

The tone of your question is negative a judgmental.
In the United States we elect our politicians.
The Republicans are a minority party, howver many Democrats who have large families feel threatened by environmentalists who are associated with the Democratic Party.
When we have negative judgmental statements in the press by environmentalists, millions of those Democrats vote Republican.
That is the reason that we get so many weak incompetent Republican Presidents such as George . Bush, Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon.
