I was watching the documentry on CNN yesturday, "Gods Christian Warriors". I am not sure of the mans name but, I believe he's a reverend. He calls himself the Christian Zionist, because he believed both the Torah and the Bible are true words of God. He even has a church that he built, with the replica of the "wailing wall". He says that Christians believe God promises Isreal to the Jews, in the Bible.

I just wanted to know your thoughts and opinions.. and if what he said is true, because I have been studying the Bible and haven't encountered such a thing yet. So, correct me if i'm wrong.

Peace and Love

Wow, we do get creepy sometimes, don't we?

Essentially, the thinking goes a little like this. The Christian Bible incorporates the Old and New Testaments, among the Old Testament is the Torah, including the story of Moses (Under God's Guidance) leading the Hebrews out of Egypt and into their new homeland which is where Israel is now..roughly. So Most Christians believe that God gave that land to the Jews, who the heck are we to argue?

Strangely, It seems as though Islam should be thinking similarly....

The Qu'ran accepts and acknowledges Jews as "People of the Book" as much so as Christians. The Old Testament is referenced numerous times, the bulk of the Prophets are recognized in Judaism. The Qu'ran even extolls Muslims to read and study the scriptures that have come before.

So essentially, If the Qu'ran acknowledges the Life and story of Moses (Musa) and the things he accomplished, then surely it would be logical to accept that Jews were granted a place in which to make their own...and that place, according to the Qu'ran, Bible and Torah is the area that is currently considered Israel. Give or take on some border issues.

I have, by the way, met a handful of pro-Israel Muslims, who while they may not agree with all of the ways Israel is handling its conflicts, they don't think Israel shouldn't exist.

In MOST Christians' opinion, the land is sacred to all three faiths, we need to find a peaceful solution to it to protect it and let it be treated as the treasure it is.

Greeting Friend,

Yes, from my experience you are correct many Christians believe with the Jews that the Jewish people are God's chosen people. Christian are adopted into God's family (see Romans 8.15-17). The nation of Israel, or maybe a better phrase is the Jewish people, are God's natural olive tree. There are numerous Christians that use the Olive tree in the Bible as symbolic of Israel, so you may want to do a word study or cross reference. Also, they get the idea of Israel being God's chosen people from Bible passages like Galatians 4.21-31, which reference passages like Genesis 21.

Please understand that I am telling you this because you asked. This is not what I believe. My God has one child and we are it. I hope this helps.

sending love,

The TORAH was considered the "Word of GOD" for Jews, who were the chosen people of the LORD. The Bible was a compilation of Gospels, Psalms and Books that were put together by the Roman Catholics, who were not considered to be Jews nor Christians but Gentiles.

If you have read your Bible, you would know that Heaven was only for God's chosen people but because of disappointments by his chosen people (Christians were disenchanted Jews, which is why God sent his son to save them but alas they too failed to follow the Great Commandment of Jesus the Christ) so God opened the Gates of Heaven to the Gentiles, which is every other type of religion practiced today. Try reading the KORAN along with the other two books of God and you will see that they all speak of the same things, just in different priorities. Palestine was the country that was known to the world in the 16th thru the 19th centuries and the country of Israel had existed since 1946. You'll have to check with politics to understand how that happened.

I pray that you do find...Peace and Love in these troubled times.

Christianity (true Christianity, not cathocism, or crusades etc) has always been pro Israel because that is what the Bible teaches. The torah is part of the Christian Bible. Some Christians go to extremes on it, ad some totally ignore it but it has always been there. God has promised the land of Israel to the Jews and they will eventually have all that God has promised them.

The promises given to Abraham and later to Isaac and Jacob, much later to king David are irrevocable. There is a time coming when God's Messiah, or the Christ will rule the world and Israel will receive its blessing. Even though they have temporarily rejected their Messiah (the suffering servant) they will embrace Him at His Second Coming as the ruling King. The Bible is full of unfulfilled promises to Israel that are waiting to come true. Since 1948 Israel is back in the land. It seems the time of the Second Coming of Christ could be near.

In the meantime all who humbly come to Christ in faith, receive forgiveness of sins and are adopted to God's family. This is the Good News of salvation in Christ preached throughout the world until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled.

remember that God is pro- people , not just a particular group of people....

Israel was chosen to be the group that would produce the messiah, and bring his Word into the world, and so he protects that group....

God also promised to bless Ishmael.....

the view of christians is that all people be treated fairly, and their devotions be respected.
