i don't know about that although they say Herbert Hoover the head of the FBI was, as well as being friends of organized crime figures while hypocritically denying the existance of the mafia. John Wayne was more or less just a phony who drank and played and made a bundle by playing hero types during the war years which is not all that uncommon among hollywood actors then and now. Sometimes we mistake the projected image of actors to be more than they are and say you were to meet Brad Pitt or John Travolta or Robert Duvall (an older generation actor) or Bruce Willis you might find that they are in fact idiots

Its simply amazing how people will call others bad names when that person is no longer able to defend themselves, because they are dead.
I don't know where you get your facts from, but you are dead wrong about this, I suggest you go back to your source and clear this issue up with them, before it gets out of hand!
