We cannot uninstall Internet Explorer from WIndows Operating System, You can only remove the sortcuts, because IE is integrated with the OS. If you upgraded IE6 to IE7, then you can downgrade it but will not be able to remove completely.

If you want to remove the shortcuts,
Goto Control Panel--> Add/remove programs-->Add/Remove Windows Components--> Uncheck Internet Explorer

If you want to reinstall the shortcuts, do the same way.

try this,

1. Go to control panel
2. Add/remove program
3. Instead of clicking on add/remove program tab, click on add/remove windows component
4. Unchecked the internet explorer box,
5. Click Next, and just follow the instructions

Why do you want to uninstal the IE? Actually it is a part of XP installation. If you want to uninstal you need to delete the contents from C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer and clean the registry.

go to add/remove programs
on the left there should be a add/remove windows components
a new window should open called windows components
just look for internet explorer uncheck it and click next and it should start to uninstall it

just put a check mark next to it and click next to reinstall it

this is where you can uninstall
windows media player and windows messenger(the msn one)

go to add removed programs, then go to add remove windows component, you can see the internet explorer icon there..

better not to remove, some programs and help items need it

Don't try to - it is made way too difficult by MS

Just download and install Firefox (link on my site if you need one) and set this as default - ignore IE

It is worth having IE as sites like MS update need you to have IE installed to access

You can't , I tried everything & the thing just stays there.

Just download Opera or firefox & leave IE unused.
