some people are so narrow-minded... nipple piercings don't have any health effects (apart from the healing - and if you take care of them, they'll be fine. you can even breastfeed afterwards)
i've had mine done, they're brilliant - the sexiest piercing to have done, i was on a high for days! my partner loves them too. if you're thinking of having them both done, it's best to do them together - apparently having them done at different times of the month, hormonally, can make them 'rotate' and they might not end up matching!
people take different time lengths to heal (mine occasionally flare up now and again - it's really important to keep them clean, salt water soaks are good), but they should be ok to play with by the time your husband gets back. hope he likes them! ;)

I have my nipples pierced, i love them! i think its a good idea, especially if your husband likes piercings. as far as "do men like it?" it all depends on the man. i love a girl covered in piercings, i find it very attractive...while on the other hand people like the first answer to your question, are totally repulsed by it. But just so you know...it will not heal by the end of November....or at least it's not likely. I've had mine since either 14 or 15 years old around august.... i'm turning 19 in november so i've had them for almost 4 years now and they are still not completely healed, in fact i doubt they will ever completely heal. you don't really notice, but your nipples go through a lot in a day, from shirts to getting caught on random things, you'll notice a lot if they are pierced. Also though, you should look around because nipple piercings might complicate breast feeding if you have children. although i've heard mixed reveiws of this, some say piercing makes it better because it stretches the milk ducts, others say it can block them, it may all just be a matter of where its pierced though.
you can look for more info at www.piercing.com or ww.bmezine.com
oh as a side note i should probably add that i says i have both my nipples pierced to make it easier to talk about it, in reality i HAD both my nipples pierced, 1 got caught on a standing fan and ripped out(one of those risks you take with piercings) talk about an OWWW!! lol...alomst a year later now though i am planning on repiercing it soon.

To reduce the risk of infection it is important to choose an experienced piercer who works at premises registered by their local council. Hygiene is crucial. For example, if the piercing instruments are not properly sterilised between clients, you may catch a blood-borne virus such as Hepatitis B or HIV.
Some of the complications of nipple piercing can include:
Infection of the nipple, which in women can quickly travel through the milk ducts and into the lymph nodes under the arm.
Scarring.
The growth of a cyst inside the nipple.
Problems with healing if the jewellery is too small.
Piercing should be avoided by some people:
The risk of infection and complications mean that nipple piercing should be avoided in certain circumstances, including in combination with:
Some medications - such as anticoagulant drugs, immunosuppressive medications and some corticosteroids.
Chemotherapy - which reduces your immunity and makes you more susceptible to infection.
Breast implants - particularly those implants located in front of the chest muscle, rather than behind.
Certain disorders - including heart valve disease, rheumatic fever and skin infections.

Hey Audrey,
I'd advise going thru with it. I'll be honest it's one of the most painful things i've ever done. It does stop hurting the same day. I'm not sure if all men would like it seeing how i'm a hetrosexual male myself but my girlfriend loves them. I'd also like to let you know that i had to sleep with coke bottle caps over both nipples to stop clothes or the sheets from sticking to them. Do yourself a favor and after a few days start moving the rings or barbells back and forth to prevent the holes from being to tight. I can't strees this enough...It really hurt.
PS i went behind the nipple not thru.

Why take a chance on damaging a very sensitive part of your body. Get some jewelry that fits over the nipples instead.

I have em, I didn't think I would like them... but I love them, the place I got them at pierced me with bars that have gems on the sides... so it's really pretty, not just, boring ring, which I think looks tacky. make sure you get them both done at the same time though, cause it does hurt and you won't go back for the other one... my friends both have that problem...
my girlfriend has one of hers done... and I think it's great fun! ;) hahaha.

Yes, they are sexy. It's gonna hurt, then they're gonna be sore for a while. Just prepare for that. I would hide them from him until they heal, which may take a few weeks. So if you can't hold out and not show him for that long, maybe you should reconsider. But like I said, they ARE sexy.

my friend had it done, and to me it looks bloody awfull! She likes it but her husband doesnt, she said it hurt alot and made her actually sick because of the pain, catching it on a towel makes her faint because of the pain, but she will not take it out after all that and her husband literally hates it!!
But its all up to you many people are different.

Some men like it and some don't. Everyone has their own opinion. What do you feel about piercing them is what counts. If it makes you feel sexier, then you will act sexier.

I don't personally think they are attractive but if you are really keen on getting them pierced do some research on it first!
Start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nipple_piercing
I know there can be some complications with jewelry rejection and plenty of sensitivity involved.
Good luck!
Hope that helps!
