parents have come a long way in accepting things.i am a mother of 6 ranging from 21 to 4.my older children talk to me about their problems on a daily basis and i would rather them be honest with me about things so that i can help rather than them hide things from me.that in my opinion is when kids get into things that they do not need to get into and then they do not know what to do.so if you have parents you can talk to do it,you will both feel better..some things can be hard to deal with but talking it out always helps....hope this helps u...good luck

I've always told my children I will never get mad at them for telling me the truth. I don't play games with them of being "naive" and it's not uncommon for us to talk for hours on a subject. We may not always see eye to eye on certain things but they respect my opinion and I respect theirs.

Talking and "accepting honestly" is a lot different than "agreeing with everything you say", then yes.
