I am sooo annoyed with the ignorance of man! Most people on here ask legitimate questions to educate themselves or to learn and understand your ways, but you crap on them with your stupidity! Then everyone wonders why certain Religions are constantly under seige!
I have my own beliefs but share a passion to learn and understand yours, same with others. Some people are still trying to find their path and ask for help and guidance yet you insult their need for help!
Someone asked a question like, what faith do I follow? Could I be this since I believe in this/that? I don't know? and someone answered: No, you're just ignorant.
Since I only have so many characters to use, I can't put the other examples down...man!

What is wrong with you people!!? You need to step up and educate one another to really make a difference.

As for the ones that are truely out to help others understand and give intelligent answers to the best of their knowledge, I thank you and it's greatly appreciated

I do not know how to stop all radicals from ruining my religion's reputation. I believe that education is the key, but this takes generations, and its effects cannot be seen immediately.

I believe that education is necessary for both the radicals and for those who make judgements of other religions based on those radicals. The radical needs to learn the true, inner meanings of his/her religion because what he/she practices is not the true teachings of the faith. The outsider however needs to learn never to judge a religion based on the actions of the few loudest members. He/she needs to evaluate it based on the actions of those members who truly espouse the teachings of that faith.

I believe that all religions have a beautiful core and many true teachings. I like to learn about others besides my own. But others do not feel this way. Yet I feel I must acknowledge the right of some religionists to believe that only their particular religion has the means to salvation. Even though I do not agree with them, I grant them a right to believe that. Theoretically at least, they could be right. So freedom of religion requires me to tolerate them I believe, as long as their tactics and actions are respectable.

Obviously, the person you mentioned who called the other person ignorant is being very rude and that is uncalled for. But those people will always be out there.

In a more positive note; what we experience here is just a small scale of what is truly happening in the world. It really explains a lot regarding the difficulties people have in working with others for the common good. I doubt things will change here but if they did I would say there would be something to be learned by it and possibly a means to improve the larger whole.

could be not all have the belief the radicals that is in leaving things where they should lie as with God if about that. Another thing it does not matter the package the belief comes in but the contents which are similiar. if this offends apologies. figure that all belief is equally worthy and holds core ideas at the heart. perhaps if this reminder could help if this idea seen enough

wonderful speech and I share in it to some small degree but as Confucius once said propriety needs flexibility so I hope you haven't allowed such a minuscule insult to affect your concern for the one should consider the the source and find a sense of dipassionate proportion with which to better judge and maybe we will find admonishment helping to all concerned and not damning to a biased one sided outlook . '
hope I haven't misjudged you I thought that was what you intended . And maybe your input we help to educate those that lack manners completely from proceeding in the future .
peace

Because we can't stop the radicals... they go out on their own against our will.

The radicals are also the ones who get the most press, unfortunately. Nobody cares about the 99% of us who just try to be normal--the radicals are the ones who are fun to watch (and make fun of). Unfortunately since those are the ones the world sees, those are the ones that the world has to base their opinion of all of a particular group.

Fortunately, there are few Radical Pagans on the R&S forum.

There are a lot of Pagans who try to ask questions designed to make people think about religious issues or why they feel the way they do about our "family" of religions (including Wicca).

Failing that, I at least try to make people laugh.... Although with my last question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070823235532AAfzLMf&r=w it seems like a few people missed that ....

the "radicals" are the ones who have the religion correct!! It's the moderates who legitimize THEM.
