I wish some people could get a clue.

A Christian is a follower of Christ......Christ started the Catholic Church......The Catholic Church follows Christ's teachings......Catholics are Christians.

Come on people, this isn't complicated.

Some Christians do not don't forget Roman Catholics to be truly Christians, and those are in most cases protestants. But essentially, Roman Catholics are Christian however no longer all Christians are Catholic. Roman Catholics are lead by way of the Pope in Rome. Protestants do not admire the Pope's authority and are equipped into 1000's of one of a kind denominations. The Eastern Orthodox(Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox) additionally don't admire the Pope, even though their teachings and ceremonies are similar to the Roman Catholics. The Eucharist is meant to be Jesus's Body and Blood, this can be a Holy Sacrament, an excessively predominant side of Catholic church rite. I do not suppose in it. I can form of realise the suggestion however I am no longer Catholic or Christian. Never be terrified of asking questions of your priest or fellow parishioners.

It started with Luther and Calvin.

But they did not take it that far, they both believed in the perpetual virginity of Mary and many other Catholic beliefs. Over the years some Protestant groups have moved further and further away from any Catholic Belief, some just to differentiate themselves from the Catholic Church.

That is not to say that all Protestants are this anti-Catholic, most are not. I was a Protestant and while we did not follow Catholic doctrine, we also did not consider Catholics as non-Christian either.

We need more tolerance and understanding. Catholics are not the enemy of Protestants and Protestants are not the enemy of Catholics. We are all Christians, we all believe in one God and the Divinity of Jesus.

Peace!

Catholics are Christians. Protestant Christianity broke away from Catholicism because they saw the traditions and ritualistic aspects of Catholicism (many of which there is no scriptural basis for) as interfering with true worship and service of God. But that doesn't mean that Catholics are not Christian.

Catholics are christians. I often wonder how this level of ignorance is possible, even among "people of faith." I think it stems from England's break with the Roman church.

Catholics don't worship Mary or the saints, they just revere them.

"Catholic" is simply Latin for "universal."

Menno Simons dude was a Catholic monk who watched other monks gambling away tithings. He wanted a change in the church. His intention was not to become a different sect. (So my husband says), but to effect change in what he saw was something beautiful made corrupt. Same with any of the protestant denominations. They broke away because they accused the Church of evil. They consider things like that non-Christian.

King Henry VIII was a devout Catholic until he went a bit off in his head from the pox, challenging the Church on its stance on divorce.

The Catholic church debated in the 400's whether or not women had souls.

so if you think of it along those terms, then yeah, there's a bone to pick. After that, it's a free-for-all for every different thing that the Pope approves.

As Catholics, we should be aware of the reasons for these "falling away". As for people who are classified by the Church as "heathen" "heretic" and "fallen away Catholic" there is a day of the week set aside by St Alphonsus de Ligouri so that we may pray to God our Father in Heaven that what ever it is they need to return to the sacraments is met.

If it isn't, who have I been praying to all my life? Get a load of the mouth-breather who says Catholicism was mentioned in the book of Revelation...LOL. I'm sure that was added by Protestants when they "revised" their Bible to suit their own hateful needs. Rest assured, it's as CHRISTIAN as any other.

It started during the Reformation with Martin Luther. Research about it (I suggest you look up on unbiased resources so you can get the most accurate picture)

P.S.
We don't worship Mary, we only venerate, meaning we show great respect for her. I'd give you the reason but I'd probably get massive thumbs down for doing so.
