THE FINAL BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL.Hey Scott I love everyone

2007-08-23 20:27:11 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 1

Hi SpiWo,
There have been many theories about this final battle. Dispensationalists claim that this is a literal battle that will be fought in literal Israel and bring in 1000 years of peace during which time those who did not qualify for heaven will be able to turn their lives around and make it on the second run.
Sadly this view is not Biblical and borders on wishful thinking and an unwillingness to accept that there is NO second chance for the wicked. They fail to comprehend that all the armies of the world would not fit in literal Israel!
The word Armageddon appears only once in Scripture in Revelation 16:16.
It is the English translation of the Greek word harmegadon. The prefix har indicates a mountain, so it is speaking of the Mountain of Megiddo. Now you can search Google Earth for eternity and you will not find any such mountain anywhere on earth!
Now if you go to the site of the ancient city of Megiddo that overlooked the Valley of Jezreel you will find a mountain range that overlooks the whole scene. It is the Carmel Range. In 1 Kings 18 we find that this was a battle ground. The prophet Elijah vs the priests of Baal. This battle was about worship and who is entitled to receive worship. Read the story for yourself to find out the outcome.
John uses this Old Testament experience to highlight a future event - namely the final battle concerning worship because at that time there will be a religious confederacy that does not accept Bible truth and they are battling God's true people for religious supremacy.
In Revelation 13:13 John alludes to this event as a precursor to the persecution of God's true people.
Thus in the first instance it is a battle between two groups over true worship and false worship.
The world is separated into two camps - True and False worshippers.
Then in Revelation 20:7-10 the wicked are destroyed by fire coming down out of heaven. You will see the link of "fire coming down out of heaven" between these three parts of Scripture.
This is the final battle - Armageddon is the destruction of the wicked, not an earthly battle fought with guns, tanks and bombs but the divine intervention of God in human affairs.
Notice that this occurs AFTER the 1000 years and is God's final act before the New Earth is created and the New Jerusalem comes to earth and becomes God's dwelling place.
The reward of God's faithful people of all ages is to be given eternal life. The reference you quoted Rev.21:8 is the reward of the wicked.
Ps.37 also speaks of the desruction of the wicked and the elevation of God's people.
I hope that this has been of some help to you.
H'chat.

Its the ultimate unraveling of evil.
An unveiling of a shaken foundation of Satans kingdom, leaving all who follow in
utter dispair, seeking refuge of darkness
but there will be no where to hide.

The earth will be purged by the truth,
not even Satan himself will stand against
what he has tried from the beginning to
compromise, and all will know that there is a force even greater than he.

Armegeddon is really what man wanted to
see all along, the simple proof of a god.
I really beleive what we see now is the battle of principalities raising the curtain
to the creator himself.
When god shows his face this will be armegeddon doing away with faith itself,
even amongst the unbeleivers and beleivers
alike as there wont be any beleiving about it
it will be fact.
Whats really clear about it all is the ones alive on the earth will see where they have been deceived and will see and respect the boundaries they have taken for granted for so many years. That will be the end of the world system.
When they see the real god evey knee will
bow and every tongue will then confess that
he is the unrefuitable god and may he have mercy on all of us when this day comes.

Literally, Armageddon is the final battle between good and evil that will result in the destruction of the Earth as we know it.

However, the interpretation is completely up to you considering its already been proclaimed by many prophets and should have already come. At any time where there is risk of great peril, such as the sweeping of the Black Death throughout Europe, you'll hear it being announced. But yet, we're all still here and waiting.

Yes it's true what a wonderful thing .
Armageddon is battle of Jesus and the angels and Satan and his demons.
The survivors will be those obedient and faithful to the bibles teachings.
It is our responsibility to study and find that rigtheous group.

Of course the world will end one day, it's inevitable. Once the sun goes out the world will be unlivable, though I don't think we'll survive that long considering the rate we're using up the planet's resources. That's my idea of armageddon. And just for your information, I'm agnostic in that I don't deny that God could exist, I just doubt it too much to be a Christian. Sorry.
