And don't tell me that jesus and god are right and shouldn't be questioned. I want you to actually think about this and answer it from a non religious biased point of view. Imagine that you one day found out that your religion, and all of the stories of god and jesus and the bible were all made up stories. Would you feel cheated? Would you be upset that you wasted a lot of time in church or preaching to people about religion? I'm sure some of you would be pissed because of all the times you could have sinned but didn't.

history_shmistory, don't be upset with my question. I am sorry that I am questioning your beliefs. Just realize that christianity is a BELIEF not a factual concept.

Thy word is thy truth, I was not concerned with that when asking this question. I am just curious how shocked you religious types would be if you found out christianity is wrong.

I'd feel pretty messed up about wasting time on something non-existant, but I'd be glad that I lived teachings that made me a better father, friend, and neighbor.
Also, since most sins are more harmful to others than they are to oneself, I'd be glad I tried to refrain from those as well.

It's not easy.
It's easier to imagine the opposite tho.
I just imagine myself:
I elect my God as only a Name with lots of good names (unlimited names), then I add "MOST" infront of each names.
In the sudden I find that actually Christ is the one with that most of names.
Well,.... that's fine, I am not worried :
BUT I AM 100% SURE, that whoever it is , it will not be like the one I've seen all the times in the picture.
Those picture is definitely not the one. That's some artist's imagination how he looks like. Maybe he looks more like Arabs or Russian or Africans.
The Bible, the guide lines are ok tho, I dont think, it's harmfull, like any other books, the moral conduct is OK, whether people hv religion or not, we all look at the law almost same way. That's not much different, may not stealing, dont kill, respect your parents etc etc are all common sense. We all doing it anyway, otherwise police come and arrest us. Nothing to do w particular religion.
The story about Jesus ?actually it's not important, it's only good to know, it's children story, it's harmfull. I read the birth until died of Sidharta, somebody might have added bits and pcs here n there, that's not important .
I think it's wrong to take religious too serious. Thinking too hard, analysing too much or accepting by memorizing, I think it's wrong .
Religion is just like we breath or the beat of our heart, that's how I follow it.

Actually much of what they are following is made up by king Constantine and his click of scribes in 324 AD at the council at Nicea. They omitted and added so many things like Paul's teachings who never even met Jesus and was a false prophet. Jesus originally taught karma, reincarnation, vegetarianism and no one goes to hell eternally. Bu Constantine took those things out to control the citizens and he was an avid meat eater. HE even had molten lead poured down the throats of those who proclaimed Vegetarianism including one of his wives. For the original New Testament google gospelofthenazirenes.com It has historical documentation of its authenticity and is alignment with the Vedas which are the original law books. Even they have been changed. But Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada is the authorized representative of God who kept the Vedas As it is. Krishna says in Gita "Whenever their is a decline in religious principles, and the truth appears to be lost, I appear again and again or send my representative to reestablish the truth." simple for the simple and pure at heart. Actually Truth is Scientific.

For the sake of your argument, let's assume that I found out tomorrow that all the religious texts and theologies I study are fake. All the teachings that I have heard would then also be fake. Correct? If that is what you are asking, I may feel a little cheated because I would then not have the written Word to rely on. However, I would still know that there is some omnipresent being watching over me, and that that being loves me. I have personal experience to that effect. I don't know if I would take more liberty in my actions or not. Whether or not God is in the picture, I am still accountable for my words and actions to those people around me.

I think the better question to ask would be "what if Christians found out that their beliefs were the wrong beliefs?".That would be more feasible for them to fathom since as far as they are concerned, there has to be a God.But what if they are worshiping the wrong one.But few, if any, Christians could or would even admit that there is a possibility that they are wrong. The only way to prove to them they are wrong is to let them live their lives as they believe and when they die then they will know. And I think they will be more then angry. They will feel betrayed by the society and the interpreted history that they spent a lifetime dedicated to.But mostly, they will wonder why the heaven they are going to is full of gay guys.

I can't ! It's too scary to think.
But I can imagine Jesus pulling your ears and ask you to do sit up and then ask the angel to sent you to hell to be roasted with your Father and all your friends of the same feather.
I was standing there clapping and cheering and you were crying for help and pleading for a second chance but Jesus said shut up you cry baby and shove a burning coal to your throat.
Of course all this are imagination and you must not feel piss off. Fair
Imagine what imagination can do for us, and it's free, no tickets.I

In all reality, we "Christians" don't have to stop and think about it, or be swayed to your way of thinking.
I read the Bible, that is enough for me, I am blessed, I pray, my prayers are answered, I see miracles around me everyday, all day. Look at the world, the beauty, I am thankful that I am able to see that beauty every day.
If you don't believe that is fine, your choice, no one here is forcing you to change, but don't put us down because we believe differently, that just really shows us how ignorant you truly are.
Blessings

Indeed, The one and only Almighty God is working within you. Your question has great validity; man has turned the Way of Jesus Christ into a 'religion' for profit. You may begin to see WHY your God given intellect is questioning what true thinkers such as yourself are observing by slowly reviewing the following site: hiswordleadstolife.org

Then I would be forced to seek out another monotheistic faith, since my personal belief is in a monotheistic God who is directly involved in the development of the universe. I became a Christian because of all the monotheistic religions, it has the most non-religion based support in the form of archeology, anthropology, history, literature, etc...
