Currently, immigration policy in this country is a joke. 1800 years ago the Chinese built a 1600 mile long wall that can be seen from outer-space (and I don't care about whether or not it was built with slave labor-that's not the point), but we can't construct a wall from Mexicali, California to the Gulf of Mexico just past Corpus Christi, Texas or Brownsville, Texas- whatever that town is. As for churches harboring them, it seems they're always catholic churches doing so (no surprise there), so shut the damn church down and arrest any church personnel involved with harboring illegal aliens.

As a child of two parents who immigrated to this country legally (and then became naturalized), I have problems with illegal immigrants. I also have problems with ANYONE who would harbor them from the law or facilitate their presense here by illegally employing them. (As you can see this is a bit of a 'hot button' topic for me).

If there are people who can take the time to come here WITHIN the law, I fail to see why so many people are demanding that we IGNORE the fact that they are here in VIOLATION of that law.

(I also have problems with forcing people to learn another language so that immigrants will not have to learn the main language spoken here. Neither of my parents spoke English when they arrived in the US, and if they can learn, so can the majority of immigrants in the workforce)

If churches don't agree with the law, let the churches work for social change.....

To answer your first question: calling illegal aliens "immigrants" is the same as calling a shoplifter a shopper. I'm all for immigration, but for God's sake, sign the guest book on the way in!!
For the second question... The church has no right to do that. The Bible says "Obey the law of the land." Our laws state that we are to turn illegal immigrants over to authorities, so that is what they should be doing.

It is Illegal.

They are cutting in line ahead of their fellow countrymen who are going through the process the legal way.

Sneaking through our borders illegally to get benefits paid by US Taxpayers is stealing from the people that the money was intended to help.

If I did something illegal, I would be jeopardizing my freedom and loosing my rights as a US citizen.

Why when people come into this country illegally they are given freedom and financial gifts and rights. As long as we reward people for breaking the law, They are sure to keep doing it.

I live in Arizona. I love the people, they are really wonderful and fun with a very interesting culture. I really dont care if they are here at all... AS LONG AS THEY PAY TAXES like the rest of us.

I know nothing of the churches so will refrain from berating them.

Well, the key word there is illegal. If they want to come legally, I am all for who wants to come. Also, if it is against the law for the church to harbor them, then they should not do it, if it is not against the law, then fine, let them do it.

God states to secure your borders, it is just a basic fact. There is nothing wrong with different people living here but if the growth of a country is to rapid, than major problems will arise.

to me it seems that there is an unwritten law where the earth belongs to all men and that the law of politics should try harder to accommodate this natural rule .
give them immunity process them and let them life normal law abiding lives evermore. there is no way on this planet to deal with it in any other fashion even if you built sixtimes as many jails you couldn't capture them outside of hiring Adolph Hitler to manage it .
