Since the latest research strongly indicates that psychopathy is basically due to serotonin and dopamine imballances, that homosexuality and transsexuality are rooted in structural differences in the hypothalamus, and that even pedophilia is a biologically based mental disorder, what does that say about our willingness to punish rather than rehabilitate?

Good Point, Maria S. It has in fact been found that, by balancing the levels of dopamine and serotonin in a psychopath's brain to normal levels, their anti-social tendencies diminish greatly. As for homosexuality and transsexuality - if that's a structural difference, no amount of medication is going to change it (I'm trans, by the way)
The pedophilia one I haven't read up on.

The trouble with these studies is that you will alwys find another research done by another group of great scientists that claims exactly the opposite.

However, if it truly were a chemical imbalance, then medication could be found to balance it. That is, after all, what anti-depressants do already, as does Ritalin and that.

We'd have a few problems less then!

I still think that everybody has a choice, although the choice might seem harder to some based on personal experience.

Give it a week they will come back and say they made a scientific break through and all the stuff they thought before was wrong but this new finding is the new scientificic truth. Man Reports suck as-s they are always wrong and its making me mad. I still think there right the first time when they said drilling a hole in your head will free your madness. Those were the good scientif days when facts were facts!

It shows a lack of understanding among people about the human brain. And it shows that people still don't seem to understand that these superstitious ideas of evil and good being some sort of otherworldly entity, are really nothing more than bronze age myth.
