I know someone who has had lupus for years. She tried something called "msm", a supplement, and said it helped her more than really strong prescription drugs she had tried. If you are interested in trying msm, look on line for the cheapest pure powder that you can find. Then take it starting slowly, maybe .25 teaspoon per day at first, increasing very slowly to several teaspoons a day. If you get a headache or diarrhea, lower the dose again a bit and stay at that level for a few extra days, but keep increasing overall, until you take five teaspoons a day. Then gradually lower it to about two teaspoons a day. Also take with vitamin C. They work together.

My friend added the msm and vitamin C to her bottle of water and was able to take that throughout her work day.

Adding fish oil supplements may be very beneficial too. Avoid strong sunshine and try to figure if other things make you worse and avoid those things.

I hope you find a good way to keep your condition quiet, but it never goes away, according to doctors. Maybe you'll be the first to get rid of it. I hope so!

It is an autoimmune disease. This means your immune systems gets confused and starts to attack itself. There are medications that can help. A few years back I started having some Lupus like symptoms (pains in my muscles and joints) and my anitnuclear anitbodies (a key thing they test for Lupus) were borderline positive. I was never diagnosed with Lupus though. I went through a lot of frustrating and dark times regarding this but after several years of intense praying about it, I am pain free. I wish you all the best and good things for your future.

Unfortunately you can't get rid of it. It is an autoimmune disease that depending upon which type you have, has various treatments and medications to lessen and help control the symptoms.

Please check out either the lupusfoundation.org

I would also recommend that family be involved and given support as it can be a hard disease on everyone involved. Sadly Lupus like APS for many people is a hidden disease, meaning you can look fine on the outside, but inside feel like caca. Family and friend support and knowledge will help give you the support you need to stay the healthiest you can and to help you out when the lupus "flares"
See a Rheumatologist. They are specialists that deal with this type of disease.

When you have lupus your immune system, which is supposed to protect you from germs, attacks your own body tissue and joints.

There is no cure. But if you see your rheumatologist regularly (every 3-6 months is recommended), take your medications, learn stress management, eat a heatlhy diet, stay out of the sun, and take moderate exercise you have a pretty good chance of controlling it.

Consider going to a lupus support group. You can find them through the link provided below.

Lupus can occur at any age, and is most common in women, particularly of non-European descent.[1] Lupus is treatable symptomatically, mainly with corticosteroids and immunosuppressants, THOUGH THERE IS NO CURE.

Your body's immune system is low and your body attacks itself and other organs in the body, sometimes you will have a butterfly rash on your face. You can relieve the symptoms by seeing your doctor regularly and doing what he says.
