I believe Jesus set the example. There are 2 schools of thought on this, but the more I study, the more I believe we should do as He did. I am not going to get into legalism, but I think we should do as He did, as best as we can.

It is true that Christ was a Biblical practicing Jew in His heyday !!!
What is interesting to find out is that John, the Baptist is a Levite priest. So there must have been something rotten somewhere because why would Jesus not have gone to the priest in the temple !!!
Reading in between the lines of scripture I think one can conclude that the priests of that day where appointed by Rome and when the priests saw something to brake with the friendly bond with Rome they would act upon it quickly !!!
Remember that Jesus was hailed as the messiah on palm sunday and one week later they wanted Him crucified. The people wanted Him, but thr priests didn't !!! When things get cushy for the leadership the people need to watch out!!!

Jesus was a Jew..are you suggesting Christians observe all Jewish feasts and go to the synagogue?
I would think we ought to strive to be Christlike and to obey the two greatest commandments "to love the Lord our God.....and To love our neighbour as ourselves..."

When Jesus was on earth the Old Testament was in operation so He had to follow the old ways of worship. Jesus died and the New Testament is established we now have to worship as Jesus said in John 4:23,24 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. The hour has come and His church shall worship the Father in spirit and truth.

Jesus, you will recall, was under the law of Moses with strict orders from His Father to fulfill it, which He did. Being born Jewish, the Son of Jew, He had no choice or else He could not have been the Messaiah.
Jesus chose Paul as one of His servants, and instructed Him that the Jews ought not lay a burden upon the gentiles, and the entire church council, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, agreed to this.
In one of Paul's letters, he wrote, "...and I am afraid for you...for you observe sabbaths...new moons...lest I have bestowed upon you labor in vain."
It is not necessary to keep any Jewish ritual in order to be saved or to be pleasing to God.

Yes, like one of the main ones, preahcing. Jesus commanded it in Matthew 24:14, who actaully preaches today? Thats right you know it, Jehovah Witnesses.
I try my hardest to worship Jehovah as much as I can and hopefully, they are happy. But I know I can do so much more.
