NO, soda, chocolate and greasy foods do NOT cause acne. See the bottom of this article from AdolescentHealth.com:

What should I do if I have acne?

Mild Acne

- Wash your skin with a mild soap such as Purpose, Basis, or Neutrogena
- Don't scrub your face or use harsh soaps; you can't scrub acne away and you will probably only make things worse
- Don't pick at your face or "pop" pimples
Avoid moisturizers
- Remove headbands and helmets as soon as you are done using them. Wash your face after wearing a helmet or headband

There are a lot of medicines to treat acne. Some are over-the-counter, but many of the medicines require a prescription. Talk with your health care provider about medicines that might be helpful for treating your acne.

Severe Acne

- Since this acne tends to form scars, it is important to see your health care provider to help you with your acne. Your provider may refer you to a Dermatologist (doctor who specializes in treating skin problems). There are a lot of different medicines that can help with acne. You will need to be patient; it can take 8 to 12 weeks for acne to improve with any treatment.

Here are some things that may make acne worse:

- Scrubbing your face: this can irritate the skin and make more pimples
- Touching your face: remember there is oil and dirt on your hands
- "Picking" or "popping" pimples
- Headbands, helmets, and other things that cover the face
- Certain medications: ask your health care provider about this
- Certain jobs that increase exposure to oils and greases, like being a cook
- Oil in moisturizers and face creams
- Stress may cause hormone changes that lead to more acne

Here are some things that DO NOT cause acne:

- Greasy food
- Chocolate
- Soda

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

I believe so,yes. It isn't exactly the healthiest thing out there you can drink. Its loaded with sugars and fat. Don't take my word for it, but I know chocolate causes acne, so it makes sense to me if sodas did too.

I don' t think soda specifically will do that, but a bad diet and bad hygiene will definitely aid acne.

i think it's the sugar in the soda. Excess sugar can cause acne.

Yes, it is so full of sugar. It can break you out in all kinds of bumps, and it does a job on the stomach area, as well. It bloats it out.

Have a good night.

Totally, anything with high carbon and sugar will. Life sucks. You'd know if you were me....... =(

If you can do me an itsy bitsy small favor and look at my past questions about the law suit I want to file, I would really appreciate it. I'm only 13, and people are being really rude to me. Your feedback is very much appreciated. Thank you so much!
