Cruise ships depart from two locations in the greater Los Angeles area. One is from the Port of Long Beach near the Queen Mary, and the other is the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro

In either case follow "Kingsley"s" suggestion. From downtown Los Angeles (7th Street Metro Station) take the Blue Line to it's end in Long Beach, then take a taxi to the appropriate port.

get on the Blue line. (Metro Rail), and take it to the end. You will be in Long Beach, then take a taxi to the terminal.
