hi...

i am also studying Wicca ( religion of wiccans / witches ) but i am not involved with any coven, i am not enrolled in any school of witchcraft (but hey! it sounds great! where is this school of your great grandmother by the way??? :-) )..

hmmm...... i am a solitary practitioner... i do self-study of wicca.... experimenting on my own.. etc.

maybe the spirit you were trying to say or you always feel is your Deity.. or maybe the Goddess and God... or maybe your great grandmother... (who knows... unless you try to communicate with them.. and dont be scared because in Wicca, we dont believe in devil, satan, or whatsoever..)

there is nothing wrong if you embrace this belief... just like me.. i am born with a Christian family and we do respect each others beliefs....

i hope this could help... you could learn the Wicca through this book entitled:

"Living Wicca: A Further Guide for a Solitary Practitioner"
By: (Great) Scott Cunningham... (or His other authored books of Wicca)

or you could visit the websites: www.wicca.com
www.britwitch.com
(research other websites regarding the religion.. Wicca)

goodluck on your journey of truth!

blessed be!

The only help I can give you is the following advise.

At 12, I make it a habit to look over peoples previous answers and questions to get an idea of how serious they are, you are still growing and maturing, do that first, if you are meant to walk the Wiccan road it will still be there when you are 18.

Do not be so quick to jump into a religion, most of the people who end up leaving a religion bitter, do so because they were too immature to understand the ramifications behind that choice. I have very little respect for anyone who would even want to nudge you in a religious direction without knowing really anything about you, it doesn't speak well for their maturity either.

Any ethical solitary or coven, other than Fam Trads, will not take a student who is under age, so you have about 6 years to study about Paganism, witchcraft and Wicca before you are able to find a teacher outside of someone in your family willing to teach you.

Use the spell checker, please, crappy English makes you seem less mature.

As has been said, until the late 1950's Paganism, Witchcraft and Wicca were taught in secret, there were no Witch Schools, that is a modern affectation.

Well, I think you may be psychic, but you really aren't a witch until you start practicing witchcraft. We all have magic within us, but some, like you have stronger abilities than others. This makes you psychic, or special, but not a witch. Only study and practice make you a witch. I think that you may have been adopted by this family for a reason. The divine sometimes calls us to the religion that we are meant to follow. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, so yes you were probably meant to be adopted by this family. However, the only way you really can get help from other people to find information on your religion is to tell others what it is. You never said what religion you followed or wanted to follow. Witchcraft isn't a religion and isn't particular to any one religion. It's merely a practice. Really, though, whatever your religion, it's best to research it yourself. By actively looking into it you can decide what is best for you. In this matter no one can really help you but yourself. Happy hunting and blessed be. )O(

P.S. Asking for narrow-minded people to not comment doesn't work. They do anyway.

Sweetie, I seriously doubt the validity of the 'witch school' claim.
Pyschic ability is definitely something you can work on, and perhaps you were meant to be with this family.
However, you're only 12.. you have plenty of time to grow and learn.
Personally, I do believe one is born a witch, despite some of the comments that are here. I highly recommend you read "Witchcraft: Theory and Practice" by Ly de Angeles when you get an opportunity. I think it will help you tremendously in your personal growth.
Witchcraft isn't a religion.. it's a way of life. Wicca, a relatively new religion, is not witchcraft.
I recommend you simply enjoy your childhood and make it as magical as you can.. that will teach you more than any book or training can do.
Blessings to you on your path!

First off, no one is born a natural witch. We all have abilities, if we choose to use them; your psychic abilities and affinity with animals could be held by a die hard christian as well. One becomes a witch by studying and practicing witchcraft - and it's a life long commitment.

The spirit- trust your gut instincts - are you afraid merely because of the spirit, or because you sense danger? If just because of it being a spirit, then try talking to it. You may or may nor get answers. Two techniques for hearing them - use a tape recorder and ask respectful questions, give time for answers, and then listen to the recording. Spirits may also try to speak to you otherwise; you may get what sounds like a different voice in your head.

Practicing witchcraft is up to you - and it's not a religion, it's a craft, a skill set, like becoming a weaver or plumber. Wicca is a religion, however - the two are NOT the same.

However, if your parents say no to you learning witchcraft or wicca, then you have to abide by their wishes. Legally in the U.S., they have full say over what you learn religiously. And no self respecting witch or wiccan will go against your parents wishes and teach you. If they do, then you don't want them for a teacher.

Something for you to read - http://groups.msn.com/AskAWitchCommunity/warningclickheretoseewhatisnotpaganism.msnw This is NOT paganism is a good guide for looking for teachers and groups.

If you are interested in wicca, here's a good learning site - http://wicca.timerift.net/

As for schools? None exist offline.

Well hon, i have never really heard of any witch schools, and think that whoever told you this may just be reffering to the fact that she studied witch craft. I do however believe in soul witches~ where we have been a witch in a previous lifetime and our soul remembers this.
Have you ever heard of crystal and indigo children? What you are describing also sounds a lot like that.
Here are a few links on that...

I have a little crystal child myself and i found the last link the most informative for me.

Here is a site that explains our view of the after life, which will show you why you were born into your present family.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/spiritwolf/summerlands.htm

Also for one of your young age this site is easy to understand about wicca~please remember that this site is not everyones views on wicca, as we all follow different Traditions, but it is a good easy place to start.

I hope this has helped answer a few questions for you.

I have given you a star so others might help you with this as well.

You would do well to heed the words of Black Dragon and Raven's Voice. You most likely will not find anyone who will teach someone under the age of 18, and if you do I would be very afraid for you because I doubt their intentions are in your best interest. If you are truly interested in Wicca and Witchcraft, ask your adopted family if they can help you find books on the topics and learn what you can as well as spending time on here reading the answers of others.

Bright Blessings young one )O(

i think that most things happen for a reason. you probably were meant to be with this family.

when you say they don't practice the craft anymore is it because they've converted to some other religion, or have they just stopped being active?

if they've just stopped practicing the craft they could still teach you. otherwise you could read, check out the Internet, or try finding someone in your area that believes the same way that you do. hey, do all three. no knowledge is ever wasted.

the spirit in your house could be your great grandmother, or it could be your spirit guide. why don't you try asking it?

if you like you can e-mail me.

good luck and bright blessings to you.

edit
don't feel weird asking your sister. that's one of the things family is for.

Er.

Honey, since you're 12 (as evidenced in the linked question below) I don't think you ought to even be here, much less asking truly silly questions.

Why do I say "truly silly"?

It's the whole "a real witch school not like harry potter but sorta like that cuz they studied the craft and it was a school for it" thing.

I think someone has been pulling your leg.

Until very recently, Witches stayed secret.

But if this isn't just a hoax, you will eventually need to find someone to teach you. Right now you're far to young to be taught by anyone who isn't your adopted family. I know that probably is not what you want to hear, but it's true. There are legal problems with anyone teaching you below the age of 18...and it would be an unkind thing indeed if your involvement got your teacher into legal trouble, wouldn't it?

You need to find a mentor who can teach you the craft. If you are under 18, chances are they would expect to have your parents' permission. If that cannot be, then read and study on your own until you are 18.
