All cats need a hand to tame them.
You are right about the love part.
as for needing God...hmm...I've never thought of it. I've always talked to Him when I needed to, and I really don't care what others think of me when I do. It's nice to talk things over with a Someone that listens. Just listens. A person needs that once in a while.

You need the God as much as He needs you or you don't need each other. With passage of time, even the best of the religions go in to the hands of people who exploit it for their own ends,be it be Power,Wealth,Fame,Control and what not.Due to many fanatic and aggressive Christian preachers and also self styled crusaders ,a large number of practicing followers are turning away from their faith. In their blind charge to spread and promote Christianity, they are actually producing more and more atheists than any other religion. Please don't confuse God with Church,Rituals, preachings or other functional aspects adopted by the clergy .God has to be and is always above all that and has nothing to do with the ideas you connect him with.Core of a religion is often quite different from the actual practices.Islam is an another example of a wonderful religion hijacked by Mullahs and other unsavory characters. and followers are paying the price for the deeds of such people.Yes,in the ultimate analysis,LOVE IS GOD,and also much more..

What the hell you talking about?!?!
You trying to make up your own rules? I not sure about God either but I know if there is a God then I would need this God. I don't understand that people think if there is a God he has to be love and that's it. I don't get this just because God loves us don't mean he can't do anything else but love. What good would it be to be God then? It says he don't have sin but being stern don't mean he's sinning. How is he the cause of all hate!?! Is it because of man greed's why blame God for this just because man uses his name ( In vain?)? Or do you not want to accountable for your action so if God says don't do something you want he is hating on you? Stop being a little brat and get some balls and do the right thing.
You people are starting to drive me nuts I trying to find God and all you guys do is make up your own rules. Even science proves God more then what you guys Q's try to disprove of him.
Sorry if I come off mad but dam seems like everyone is trying to put God in a box, it's God a being that can do anything and be anything and no man can say otherwise.
Oh another thing on sex and free thinking! You haven't even done any research at all. 2 days into this I found out that God is all about Free thinking have you not heard of his saying on "Free Will" that's what that means get a clue
and the Sex well he says have sex all the sex you want. Someplace in the bible it says anything between a married man and women that they do in there bedroom goes if they both feel good about it. So get all kinky its all good with God just keep it in a marriage not to tough to figure out. Doing it only in marriage wow that gonna be tough one for me but I not gonna fool myself that it's not wrong because I want to do it.

How can you be so sure?
I very much agree with you on most of your points. I do not understand how something such as sex is considered evil. I have never understood it. If sex is evil, then why does it feel so good? What is the point of life if not to find happiness? What joy is there in sacrificing yourself for a god you cannot understand?
Another good point is the demonization of free-thinking. The U.S. was founded on the freedom of thought, but it seems lately that no one cares anymore. Am I not free to decide what I want to do with my life? We are told that we all have freedoms, but where are they? Why is it that I have a freedom that I cannot use?
Yes, let us all go and worship god, kill each other, and condemn the survivors. It is evil to live now, right?

God gives breath, God gives life whether we believe it or not.
He is the giver of life.
God takes away sin. If we are honest, we will admit that we are sinners in rebellion against God's ways. We need cleansing and only God can do that.
God gives direction. God who is Creator is the way and reveals this and all that we need to know about Him, ourselves and living now and eternally, in His Word, the Bible.

God isn't the cause of the hate all around you, me,-everybody. Man is the cause for it, and man is the one who uses his freedom in sick, twisted ways to bring destruction and misery into the picture.
God truly is love, but it's a love that so far humanity has only been able to reflect in a most "hit-and-miss" fashion at best.

Why don't you need God. Can you save yourself from damnation? Did Jesus come to earth, preach, teach, perform miracles, go to the cross and die to forgive our sins for no apparent reason? No. Is God causing the problems in the worlsd or is mankind causing the problems. Mankind. We know good from bad, right from wrong, we know not to kill, steal, lie, etc., but what do we find ourselves doing? Do people kill each other? Yes. God isn't standing there telling a person to kill another and handing him a gun to do so. People kill each other ! In the commandments God says "Thou shall not kill." God tells us to forgive and love each other. Do we do it? No. Did you ever steal anything? Did you ever tell a lie? Did God tell you to do it or did others, or you, yourself, tell you to do it? Why do we complain and blame God when things go wrong, but not worship or give Him thanks when things go right? All to often, people act like it's all His fault but never His blessing. Gods forgiveness of our sins doesn't mean it's OK to sin or that we have a license to sin. Sin/wrong is still sin/wrong. If a person feels they can just go on sinning/doing wrong and God will forgive them, makes a fool of God from such a person. They would be playing God for a fool and God is no fool. God has been in this business for a long time. To disregard the will of God and to disregard the 10 commandments equals disregarding God. The Bible tells that the wages (punishment) of sin is death (eternal death-hell.) But the gift of God is eternal life. Eternal life won, and given to us by Jesus and what He accomplished for us when He died to forgive our sins. God, via Jesus died for us...that's how much God loves us. Is there a greater love than for one to die for the sake (to save) another? To receive this gift a person should try to do Gods will and part of doing Gods will is honoring Him and striving not to sin.

You need God because God give you salvation. He doesn't expect you to be religious and commit your every waking hour to him. All that he asks is that you except him as your savior and let him guide your life. He is not against you and he loves you. That's why he let his son die in the cross for your sins so that you don't have to suffer for them. That way all that you have to do is except him and repent. Every thing else like going to church and reading the Bible, God does that change in you in his time. You don't need to change anything just repent for your sins and he excepts you and loves you just the way that you are. Believe me he is real! And yes he is love!

God is love so in that you're correct. However, have you ever tried studying God's instructions about the things you mentioned (the things you see as threatening your freedom and dictating your life) from the perspective of a loving purpose instead of a hateful one?
If I tell my son not to play in the street am I trying to spoil his fun?...or am I trying to protect him from dangerous behavior that could hurt (or kill) him? If I tell him that he could get hurt or killed, am I judging and condemning him or am I warning him about a natural consequence of his behavior?
Did you ever stop to think that maybe God warned people about having sex outside of "marriage" (lifetime committment) not because he wanted to spoil our fun but because he knew that it could hurt or kill us? No one who's heard of a sexually transmitted disease, been deceived by a person who only wanted sex or even just had his or her heart broken could possibly deny the variety of negative consequences associated with sex outside of marriage!
God is not the cause of the hate you see around you, people are the cause of the hate you see around you! Confused, sinful, mixed up people who may accept the love of God but aren't always able to distinguish between loving and hateful actions/words because they don't truly understand what it means to love themselves or others.
There IS a God and he IS love...he doesn't want you to hate, he wants you to love...he doesn't want you to feel pain, he wants you to feel joy...he doesn't want you to experience terror, he wants you to have peace...he doesn't want you to be afraid, he wants you to feel safe and secure....he doesn't want you to die, he wants you to live!!! When God gave us rules, he did it to protect us...to give us information we needed to live the life he planned for us...a life of love.
