How did the universe come to be, did it expand from an infinately dense point (singularity) If so, where did the singularity come from? Ifr there was "nothing" before the universe, then what is "nothing"? If we come to the conclusion that the universe is infinately old, how about a creator that is infinately old. Did the universe come from nothing? Very tough questions, and, if it is used to suggest that their is a creator, it is pretty much immune to scientific attack

Of course I don't expect answers to any of these questions, just opinions and thoughts, and to those that say it is a waste of time to think of this....you're right. :)

you probably don't know who your great great great grand father was and really don't think it worth the trouble to find out so what does billions of years ago have to do with the price of eggs in china . ivory towers don't make for better reality prices and the conception of the universe is an idol curiosity that doesn't lend itself readily to anything of much importance .

The short answer is that we don't know, and may never know. The universe is not infinitely old; time and space both began with the big bang some 13.6 billion years ago. The laws of physics do not work at singularities, and the big bang was about as singular as you can get. There may be a better answer if we can discover the ultimate theory of everything, but that is nowhere near happening; Einstein worked on it for years, and he didn't even have dark matter or dark energy to worry about -- and we know nothing whatever about either. Which makes it difficult to incorporate them into a theory. As for a creator, it is easy to show that no theory of such can make any prediction about the real world, so it is a waste of time to worry about it.

Here's a perfect theory that is immune to scientific attack -

The universe was created 5 minutes ago, in tact and exactly as we see it right now. All of our memories and history were set this way so that they appear to go back a long time. Furthermore, the Creator was extremely careful to leave absolutely no clues as to the true age (5 minutes) of the universe and absolutely no way to see or identify him.

How's that for a scientific theory? Pretty useless, huh ?

The answer to this question, were you to get it, would not change you, the earth, the people on it, or anything about life in any special or meaningful way. Knowing why everything is the way it is means nothing because the knowledge gives us nothing. We couldn't change things if we wanted to. If humanity suddenly "figured it all out" we'd be in exactly the same boat as before when we were in the dark.

That said, why not focus your thoughts, time and energy on understanding things that are relevant to your life, and what you want it to be?

I'll write it for the "100th" time today. NO human regardless of religious belief, science or otherwise is INTELLIGENT enough to answer any of the past or creation, so why even TRY ? You just like me, have but one LIFE to live and the 50, 60, 70 or so years we live upon this dirt clod is full of it's own problems without adding the weight of all the ignorances we can think of loading upon our shoulders we CAN'T answer AND will NEVER be able to answer. Isn't there something in REALITY that needs your inquisitive mind you can lay all your intelligence on to solve. I sure know THIS one BORES me..........

With science comes rationale.

So, its like saying----if I cant come up with the provable answer, I will devise a rationale.

The evolutionists, atheists, and all other non believers will claim it is "Your lack of wisdom" that keeps you from seeing the truth. They will ridicule you and call you stupid, as well as use profanities because of their dislike of God.

But the truth is-----anything with a design---naturally will point to a designer.
The atheists do not disbelieve in God for lack of proof.
They disbelieve in God, because they do not want to accept any proof. They do not want to submit to any power. Or be subject to any punishments for disobedience.
Most atheists while thumping books of facts, also believe in relativism---where there are no rights or wrongs.
WHAT A PERFECT SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS YOU TO DO WHAT YOU WANT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE AND NOT BE ACCOUNTABLE UNDER ANY RATIONALE.

HATS OFF TO ATHEISTS----YOUR SCHEME IS FLAWLESS. Unless of course, GOD DOES NOT AGREE.
