How can I restore back my win98 window system file?

My win98 computer have missing window system file. I dont know how this happened. Maybe this file was deleted when I conducted the antivirus. The computer is working ok even without the system file but I can not restore the regedit although i have the tools to restore it. I'm getting a message that the window/system/regedit.com is damage. I tried to run the setup for win98 but still the system file is missing. Can I copy the system file from my other computer with the same operating system?

It would be better if you could get it from the Windows 98 CD. But yes, it should work.

You might want to check your other system files for corruption, too. Look in Help for the "System File Checker".
