Because pride is the root of all evil.
Yes, the words proud and haughty I have seen repeatedly in the Psalms, usually associated with God doing away with them.
In His Love,

As a God lover, truth is very important. We are called to be truthful with ourselves as well as God and others. The truth is that none of us are better then anyone else.
Yes, God can use the proud and haughty. He can use anyone and anything. But it is far better for us to be used humble servants.

God dislike a proud eye and haunty looks. he lifts the humble and brings to nothing the proud. NT tells us to think of others as better than ourselves.
even we who are sinful are attracted and admire people who are humble despite they hv much to be proud of. we find it difficult to get along with proud people. How much more unacceptable it is for a holy God to see a unduly proud person. a proud person thinks all he has and is is because of his own ability and strength. he does not acknowledge God the giver of all good things. a person who ackknowledges God and his gifts will never be proud.

To be proud and haughty is to be self centered and focused.
Of the commandments that Jesus gave us, one was to love others as ourselves. This (humility) takes the focus off of self and refocuses it on the benefit of others. Jesus, served as our best example, He never once spoke in defense of Himself in order to keep Himself from the crucifixition. His focus remained on us.
God can and does use all of us in different capacities. Some of the greatest Heroes of the Bible were sinners. Moses was a murderer, King David was an adulterer, Paul was a Roman soldier who killed the early Christians.

Why should anybody be haughty? when being humble is good for everybody.....
Also, since we don't have control over universe and many things happening with us....
Might as well accept almighty - hope for the best... and take as it comes...... in this process being humble helps....

God uses the humble. I believe as Christians grow, they become more humble.

No, because they'd be to proud and it'd be "beneath" them. Also, he knows if he did, then they'd just boast about it.
