To begin with I just want everybody to know I'm not drinking as well as driving, but I was wondering how long it takes for 1 drink to get out of your system? also I was wondering if you take 3 shots right after another how many hours would it take to get out of your system? Also i hear drinking water and eating peanut butter helps the process. The reason I'm asking is because I'm a senior in High school, 18 years old and my mom bought a breathalyzer.. I don't have a problem drinking its just on ocassion i like to and I don't wanna upset her or be irresponsible but sometimes you just have to drink a few with your buddies, and the reason i like to drink on occasion is because its my senior year and its gonna happen.. Also im alot of fun, and alot of fun to be around. It helps me come out of my shell. Once again I don't plan on drinking and driving..

It takes about an hour to metabolize the alcohol in one 'drink'. A drink is defined as:
One shot (1.5 ozs) of 80 proof hard liquor
12 ozs of beer (10 proof)
5 ozs of wine (24 proof)
If your one 'drink' is a long island iced tea made with 5 shots of liquor, then it'll be about 5 hours before it is out of your system.

Generally, two drinks the first hour, and one drink per hour after that; but it varies from person to person and from occasion to occasion. Also, if you go 'over the limit', by drinking, say eight standard drinks in two hours, your body will have a harder time breaking down the alcohol, and it will then take more than a further 5 hours to remove the excess. That is why a lot of people get caught out 'the morning after' by being over the limit, when they think they had plenty of time to adjust.

On those educational TV shows, they claim one drink consumed will take about one hour to leave your body (via urine or sweat). I don't put much stock into this information because I still feel buzzed after one hour off of one drink (it's a large drink though! LOL!).
Drink all you want or can handle. And since your mommy will be checking your breath for alcohol, just do this. When you reach your destination for the night, call Mommy Dearest right away and say you're spending the night there; you've put her mind at ease and you're free to party!
Drink, do bongs, have sex (with whomever and with whatever but please use a condom to protect our species), eat a lot of food, then crash!
Refrain from drinking then driving - the odds are against you these days. Also, if your buddies are going to drive after they've been drinking - stay out of that car - the odds are against you regardless of the law. Let them go, you stay behind and boink their girls!
Have fun because after graduation, most of your friends will split like cockroaches, beginning their new lives and they will leave you behind. Go have fun!!

You've done a lot of thinking about this. It's 1 drink per hour. 3 shots=3 hours. If you will be driving do not drink period. It beats the alternative.

Depends on your body weight. You are under age but that didn't stop me either. Be careful. Many people use alcohol for the same reason. It can cause a world of hell down the road of life.

It all depends on your gender, height and weight and what you eat during the night.
