What are the benefits of filing for disability?
What are the drawbacks?

If someone had sever panic and anxiety disorders, and they were not able to hold down a job, and so they decided to get a psychological evaluation to proove their disability, I know it would be easier to find affordable housing, possibly through section 8 faster, and they would be able to collect a very small amount of money each month, but what about the drawbacks. I know that it is very difficult to be stereotyped with a mental illness. It makes it very difficult to find friends, get a job, and have a positive self esteem, but are there any other drawbacks?

People with disabilities only please answer. I know there are a lot of people who would let disabled people die than to give them a dime of their tax money.

If anxiety and panic disorders are so extreme, they almost rank with paroinoia.

Yes, I tried antidepressants medication for several years, and it seemed to make my life even worse. My friends started avoiding me, and I seemed "overmedicated".

If you truly need disability then you need it. I had to file and get on it but I am about to start a part time job after being in intensive therapy and will be off soon or at least that is my goal. I received it the first time I applied. At the time I applied I had worked for 15 years prior so I had credits towards my Social Security so therefor that is what mine is based on. I also had been hospitalized with Major depression and extremely bad anxiety and PTSD. I did not have to be evaluated because it was "mental" disorders so there was no way for a Dr. to talk to me for an hour and see if I was disabled plus I had numerous records for them to review. I was not denied even though I had no idea what the process really entailed at that time.
Anxiety can be very severe and limit peoples lives until new coping mechanisms are learned in therapy which is a process. I have unfortunately been severely limited by fear for a very long time. I have improved and hope it continues.
As far as benefits you will have income coming in although it is very limited. It will give you the opportunity to concentrate and put forth every effort into getting yourself better. There are drawbacks to everything but they are going to be different for everyone. For me personally it was what my family initially thought but now I don't care. I have to live for me and get myself better. Don't mind what people say because unless they have been there, there is no way for them to truly know how it feels. I hope whatever you choose to do you will get the help you need and feel better. Good luck to you ~

The drawback of filing for disability
is not knowing whether or not you'll get it.
I went through all the appeals, it took 18 mo.,
I had an attorney, and still didn't get a cent.

It's six years later, and I still can't hold a full-time job.

My advice is to go to Vocational Rehabilitation, they can work with you on testing, re-training, and work accomodations.

As others element out it is all to undemanding for attachment to form and the will for extra. So till the two events are self controlled adequate to cut up intercourse from romance certainly one of them will finally end up falling for the different. The non secular implications are that while you're already able to detachment then it could artwork. even though while you at the instant are not at that time you will the two be taught of go through (according to possibility the two). it is as non secular liberating or discomfort inducing, as a hearth walk. So do no longer try it till you're thoroughly confident you're arranged. _()_
