I have always been under the assumption that Atheism is a belief in no God or Spirit. Is this true? Or are you all simply on your own spiritual paths seeking out what is right for you personally?
If this is the case, may I offer my humble apology for contempt prior to investigation?

Thanks for answering

You have gotten some good responses. I wonder if you may have confused atheists and agnostics.

agnostic: a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god (Merriam-Webster online)

Hope this helps a little, too.

Atheism is not a belief. It is a disbelief.

Atheism does not claim anything. It is a disbelief in god/s.

There is a difference between not having beliefs in any god/s and believing there are no god/s. To be an atheist, all one has to fulfill is the former.

Atheism is the lack of belief in deities. Some atheists believe that it is impossible for god/s to exist, and others simply do not believe that any do.

Some atheists are spiritual and others aren't. All we really have in common is the lack of theism.

Atheism is lack of beliefs in deities. Some atheists aren't secular and believe in some supernatural things. Most of us don't though, because we tend to see things through a secular humanist viewpoint.

A true atheist has no supernatural beliefs, so that rules out most anything labeled "spiritual" as well.

My beliefs are based in science, since science can explain almost everything. My morals are based on logic, compassion, empathy, reason and common sense.

I hope that helps.
