okay, i was watching the Tyra Banks show the other day, it was about racism, now what i want to know is what do people have against muslim and jewish people?? Im christian and i have no problem with muslims, i have alot of muslim friends.
We are all human beings, we just have different religions and cultures but that doesnt change the person. so i would like to know what your religion is and then tell me if you have anything against people that are not of your religion and just be truthful...it really disturbed me when i saw people being singled out by other people that are not of their religion.
Also whats wrong with interracial dating? couples should be allowed to go anywhere without people giving dirty looks or whispers just because they're not the same race.Well let me know ur opinion, i would appreciate it if you answer this question seriously cuz' this is not a joke to me, this really opened up my eyes, i hope someone can do something about all of this...thanx in advance :)

ok, i maybe didn't make alot of sense there, but just tell me what u think, i dont see whats wrong with someone dating a person of the opposite color, and yes it is true, mankind started this.....people should be able to live their lives the way they want to and shouldn't care about what other people think.....

Being racist has nothing to do with religion. When a person is racist, they discriminate against other races. I'm not sure exactly what the term is for people who discriminate against Muslims and middle eastern religions, but I do know that when people are against jews it is called "antisemitism." To be honest I have no idea why people hate them. I definately agree that we are all people. Some people just can't accept that other's don't believe the same things as them. They think they are superior and it is total bullsh*t.
To that Jesus person bellow me, racism has nothing to do with judaism and other RELIGIONS. And christians and jews arguing about who killed jesus also has nothing to do with my point....
My Jewish friends and I laugh AT jewish and other stereotypes b/c of how untrue they are. People need to grow up and dip their fingers in the big ol' reality pot.
To that person who talks about the bible and koran contradict eachother and that that is hard to teach kids....people dont know that much about religion anyway until they are at least teenagers. Small minds cannot always comprehend such deep and universal stuff. Once they grow up and learn, I actually think it is better to be around 2+ religions b/c then there is no bias and they can think on their own terms.

I dont hate the muslims or the Jews and both have nice eye candy gorgeous guys in them....lol. I dont mind interacial dating but you have to realize their are different cultures. Ive seen couples at a Chinese restraunt where a whole family will be asian except maybe one who is the husband or wife of one in the family and they were just sitting there not being able to talk to anyone. The bible doesnt say anything about races but it is not for mixing religions which is very important. You need to have the same beliefs in God and be able to worship together as a couple and bring your children up in the Lord. If you marry a muslim you risk having the child grow up as a muslim and memorizing koran which says that Jesus is just a messenger and not the Son of God which will mix up the kid regarding religion. If you believe in Jesus and the God of the bible its not a good idea to marry a muslim....they say they have the same God but you know thats not true. The koran and bible are contradictory, both cant be right and you cant serve two masters.

I'm glad other people agree. I'm an agnostic, so I don't have much room to get upset when others don't agree, but I do have things against religious people who try to push their religion's morals and beliefs on others.
I can't see why we can't all have our own religion and leave the others ones alone.
I also don't like the interracial couple thing. I myself was in an interracial relationship, and the community here did not seem very happy about it.
It's good to know that other people have some common sense. Keep free-thinking. Society tries to tell you what to think, don't let it.

i am a Pagan, i really do not care what religion someone is. unless they believe that they have the right to control everyone else.
i do not have a problem with Christianity. i have a problem with Christians that are trying to deny Homosexuals the right to be married.
i do not have a problem with Islam, i have a problem with Muslims that are willing to kill people over a cartoon.
i do not have a problem with Buddahist's. ...not much of a counterpoint here. i have a problem with Vegans that think that i should not eat meat because they do not...(closest i could come up with there)
these are just examples. in every religion there are people that i have a problem with. yes even my own Pagan ones.
and i have a problem with ahyone that has a problem with me based only on my beliefs or color.

Im a christian and I don't judge other religions. But the thing about dating with in a different belief. Well not to say it isn't possible but as far as I can see if I were to date someone with oppisite beliefs would and could hurt the relationship in the long run.

wikipedia's definition of "racism" is as follows:
Racism is a belief or concept that inherent differences between people, in particular those upon which the concept of race is based, determine cultural or individual achievement, and may involve the idea that one's self-identified race is superior.
wikipedia describes "race" as:
The term race refers to the concept of dividing people into populations or groups on the basis of various sets of characteristics and beliefs about COMMON ANCESTRY.[1] The most widely used human racial categories are based on visible traits (especially skin color, facial features and hair texture), and self-identification.[2]
are jews and muslims classsified as "races" or are they "religions".?
again, wikipedia says that "muslim" is a religion,a person that follows the muslim path
"jew" is a "race" based on common ancestry.
it sounds like the discussion you were listening to was misleading.
people have been persecuting others for any differences they can find and society tries to label it all racism. a lot of it is plain FEAR and IGNORANCE. for example, gay people, we aren't a "race" but we get discriminated against all the time, again due to fear and ignorance.
i am all about acceptance and love. i don't care what you believe, do, who you sleep with, etc. i look for people that treat each other kindly, that reach out a hand to help another, who respect each other's feelings and are willing to share.
children and other innocents are being blown up and shot at and starving and homeless and we are quarreling over who belives in what and who sleeps with who. if i chose only to "see" the negative side of humanity i would be miserable. fortunately (believe it or not) i have a lot of faith in humanity and i believe things will ONE DAY be better. maybe not in this generation, but in generations to come.
there, said my piece, jumped on my soapbox, for what it's worth.

i have the same feeling. i am also Christian and am a strong believer in my faith and have my own opinion of things but i don't discriminate against others. same with mixed couples, it's not like we're a seperate species. we're all humans and we should all learn to get along, but i guess there are those that have to push their opinions on others and to me thats where the problem comes in. you dont force people to know your opinion, you can tell them if they're open to it but don't shove it down their throat and make them listen to you. good question! glad to get that off my chest haha.

I am an atheist, I have no problem with anyone, I do have a problem with their religion though.
Edit-ohyes_x_killa-there was no anti semitism until the christians accused the jews of killing christ. if you think religion has nothing to do with racism you are a little naive.
Seriously go read a history book, the christians once the jews rejected their messiah accused the jews of killing christ. There have been pogroms ever since. In case you are unfamilliar with the term.

I agree, I don't really "get it" either.
Personally, I'm a member of the Rodney "Can't We All Just Get Along?" King Club.
Bob Marley sang about the chains upon our minds, and that each one of us is responsible for freeing our own self.
