What can be cured by penicillin? What cannot be cured with penecillin?

Penicillin cannot treat viral infections. It will however kill gram-positive bacterial infection by disrupting the bacteria's ability to build or maintain a cell wall.

Penicillin does not work on parasitic infections like malaria, nor does it work on fungi like candida or tinea and may actually make such infections worse by killing off competing beneficial or neutral bacteria.

There is no cure for any disease. Penicillin just helps to get rid of it but not cure it. You can get it back just as fast as you can say hello to someone. If its a bacteria based disease in most cases Penicillin can get rid of it. It its a virus then there is nothing but your body can get rid of that. And in most cases your body can't get rid of all of them.

I am currently taking penicillin and it's best for dental infections. It covera a vast array of infections though, other than dental. It's also available in a shot formfor flu-like illnesses. It's not really good for sinusitus, in which a stronger regimen is better, like Zithromax (Z-pack), which is a once a day, 5 day treatment, and covers a wide category of other infections.
