Download it and try it.

Your processor is fine and the RAM may be adequate but you need a reasonable graphics card.

I use an Intel Core 2 6600 with 2Gb of 800MHz RAM with the lowest wait states I could find and an nVidia 8800GTS video card with 640Mb of RAM running Vista Ultimate from a 10,000rpm hard drive. That runs fine.

My previous system used an Athlon 64 3200+ 2Gb RAM and a 256Mb 7600GS, that worked OK too, but I didn't use the maximum rendering options.

But it is an excellent flight simulator, it does realtime panel by panel aerodynamic simulation (you can switch on the lift vectors in the rendering options to see the vectors change as you fly if you want to) which gives realistic reaction to controls. Things you can't do in real life won't work in the simulator, so don't try rolling the B52 at low level unless you like crashing. Have fun.

Do you mean AI traffic? Artificial Intelligence driven traffic? There's ballons, ships and cars, but not other aircraft. However, you can link up on the network and join a virtual airline. I think one of them is called GoodWays? They have people who act as ATCs in realtime and people who take cargo and fly real routes. Pretty darned involved and similar to a big military networked simulator exercise like we used to do with Ternion Systems FLAMES (Force Level Analysius for Mission Effectiveness Simulation) man in the loop simulator/mission planning system. We used to let pilots fly their missions before going out and doing it for real.

i have both the simulators and i think x-plane is far superior as far as flight dynamics are concerned. also, the eye-candy, with the new 7 dvd global scenery packages that it comes with, is almost as good.

if you can run FSX (and surely it's VERY slow with your configuration), then you will definitely be able to run x-plane quite comfortably because it's a lot less memory intensive.

it focuses on giving you an adequately good flight model and therefore will automatically suppress visibility and features (after around 5 minutes of play) if they get in the way of a smooth flight model.

I'm not sure what you mean by AL traffic.

enjoy.

I would upgrade your ram to at least 1gig to get the most out of your system.
