Um, *not* a good idea. But if you must, use caulk to fill in the spaces. Curious - are you going to paint it? It is some sort of artistic statement? Usually drywall is used...

I never heard of this, but I'd be wary of styrofoam on walls. Walls need to "breathe". Check with your local energy company (the company who supplies your gas and electricity). They will tell you if it's a good idea. In my area, they will come out and do a free test to see how "tight" the house is for air conditioning and heat. I'd check with a reputable home supplier for info on how to fill in the cracks.

Be careful that is a major fire hazard. Housing insulation must be fire resistant. I would recommend taking it down. I'm sorry to rain on your creativity. Wanting to Improving your space is admirable. Please don't let this discourage you. Use the styrofoam for another purpose.

I have to agree with the other persons, it is a poor choice for a room to have Styrofoam covering the walls. Please heed their warnings and remove if possible.

I assume you are going to cover the foam with a finish.- Paper, fabric as a decorative finish?
You can tape the joints if they are not that wide. You can also use the spray foam insulation. It can be hard to clean off though.

That sounds like a really bad idea.
Take a look at this scary article about a place that put non-fireretardant plastic on their walls and killed 200 people.
