they have lived their entire life based on a giant lie? ... and instead of heaven, all that will happen when they die is their corpse will rot, just like the rest of us.

How would a dead person wake up and realize theres nothing after life? Is this more of the intelligent atheist logic?

my friend thomas put it best when he said,"If you have faith in a religon and you live a good life, you don't cause pain to others. Does it matter if you were right or not? If you live a good life and you die and you go to heaven. Great. But what if you live a good life and you die and you just rot in the ground? You still lived a good life and that's much better than living a life that hurt others and was self-centered." I agree with him. Just live a good life, don't hurt others and everything will be all good.

Well you assume that a religious life is a bad one - if I lived a life trying to help poor people, live with good principles, strive to be a better person, and feel spiritually satisfied, even if God and heaven were not true, it would still have been a better life then a life lived by the Paris Hiltons of the world who smoke and do everything possible and yet still feel incredibly empty when all is said and done.

Well I truely beleive in GOD and heaven. Why not beacause of what someone told me or something I read. But because. Of two miracles that happened in my life. One was when I was 7 yrs old I was camping with my grandfather. And there was this old man cutting grass on a tractor. He was cutting on a hill when the tractor rolled over and rested on top of him. I ran over there and picked the tractor up just enough for the old man to climb out. And this was not a lawn mower. And I felt like another presence there when I did it. And that is a true story. There was several witnesses. My cousin and the old man.

The second one was when I spent my first night in jail. I was scared out of my mind. Well that night I couldnt sleep. I was scared cause I was in the cell with a guy who stabbed some body. I was crying I was so scared. Well I prayed to GOD for the first time since I was a kid that night. I had prayed asking GOD to protect me and comfort me. And I prayed with all my heart. As soon as I said Amen I felt warm and like my body was as light as a feather. And I just knew that was GOD or an Angel without a doubt. True stories.

Interesting. Wouldn't you just love to see the expression on an atheist person's face when they finally realize that... they have rejected the truth... and will spend eternity in hell. Instead of just living and dying, they were called to do so much more.

As for me, i would hate to see that expression on someone's face. I want to see people rejoice and glad. Why would anyone like to see people going through agony?

Can someone tell me the meaning of this question?

Wow. What an incredibly mean-spirited question. You should initiate a Schadenfreude Society (Look up that nice German word on wiki).Creepy.

Petty delight in the real or imagined downfall of others, vicarious pleasure in other people's pain: a major contribution to h*ll right here on earth--for people of all faiths and/or none.

It wouldn't matter to me. My religious beliefs are personal and they inspire me to try every day to be a better human being and be kind to others. So, if there really is no heaven, whatever, at least I still would've done the best that I could do with my life.

And what about what happends when these atheists finally realize that they have lived their entire life based on the acceptance of another lie? When instead of just rotting away, they end up burning in hell for their unforgiven sins?

If we're wrong, oh well.

If you're wrong... too late.

It is hilarious (my friend is now an atheist after a 2 1/2 hour long debate on religion), and yet, I felt a little guilty now that he will no longer have the bliss of his ignorance to fall back on.

It's not going to happen. What's worst is that you finally come face to face with God and find out that it wasn't a lie and that you were decieved by satan all of your life and didn't accept Christ.
Actually it will be sad, because hell is not going to be a party place.

I will be praying for you and others like you. God Bless.
