Get this book: The Memory Book: by harry lorayne (look it up on amazon.com $6.99). I read this book a long time ago when I was in school. The book really teaches you great ways to remember things... it really helped my grades, and it was useful in a lot of other things besides just school. It even teaches you how to remember numbers, lists, and so much more. One person was able to remember the names and numbers for everyone in a small city phone book using their system.!

I've had the same problem most of my life. I've found a few things that have helped my memory, as well as my mental cognition, not to mention all the customers that tell me how much they help their memory.
You can try Ginkgo Biloba, Acetyl L-Carnitine, Phosphatidylserine, Vinpocetine, Huperzine A, Bacopa Monnieri (or Monniera), or Alpha-GPC. Those are the most popular products for memory and brain support that help a LOT of different people.

Do simple exercises with your mind. Read a section of a newspaper and summarize it as closely as you can. Take different routes to your school. Tell yourself you will remember certain things, etc.
Solving small tasks, puzzles, and simple addition can really help get your brain awake, and hopefully it'll improve your memory.
