The odd thing about this questions is that some of the most brilliant scientists, inventors, political leaders and thinkers, artists, and thinkers were devout Christians. You also assume that every nonChristian is a shining example of an educated person but there are plenty of simpletons who have never graduated high school and never stepped inside of a church either.
In short, this question shows a great lack of education on your end.

Good one, those naughty religious people who founded Norte Dame, Harvard, Princeton, Yale and 1000's of other universities in this country. Is that the best you can do? So much for atheist intellectual superiority, didn't exactly think that one through, did you?

NH Baritone is right once again. I am reminded of a time when I spent a couple hours on coastal bluff in northern Callifornia, watching ocean waves break over big rocks. I had a poetic moment, thinking "It appears that the waves conform to the rocks, but ultimately the rocks conform to the waves."
Education has had to conform to Christianity for a very long time. But bit by bit, Christianity will conform to the march of knowledge. In the end, all that will remain is "Love thy neighbor as thyself", and a few other choice grains of wisdom.

A Stone.
It takes a long time for water to make an impression in a stone, and by the time the stone finally gets worn in such a way that it shows the water has been washing over it, the first waters are long passed away.
It took centuries for the Catholic Church to admit they shouldn't have persecuted Galileo.

And as much as I hate to admit it, the question in itself is simply trying to make a bt of a parable; it isn't asking specifically or implying atheist agendas.

Education is to Christianity what water is to fish.
Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8 guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.
