Yes and no.

With a pure accommodative esotropia (the eyes turning in,)
contacts can hold the eyes straight just as effectively as glasses.

If the glasses contain a prismatic component this cannot normally be included in a contact lens, though there are exceptions, and it would need custom-made lenses.
(though technically a prism component is NOT holding the eyes straight. It is allowing the eyes to function *as though they were straight* when they remain slightly mis-aligned physically)

Because with contacts the eyes are less hidden than behind glasses, some people feel that eye alignment/movement anomalies are more obvious, and therefore worse cosmetically, even if they are not by actual optical measurement.

It would be a matter of taking advice in each particular case.
You should not assume yes OR no.

Lazy eye is called amblyopia, and contacts will not correct the condition. Contacts will however correct you near or far sightedness, but usually with lazy eye, you will need to use a patch alternating between the eyes to strengthen the lazy one. good luck with it You will need to see an eye doctor to get a course of treatment..

no, a lazy eye wanders. Contacts won't do anything for that.
