I usually just say "pacostimus," which most people accept as a blessing. Actually, the pacostimus is a small fish -- related to the catfish -- that helps keep fresh water aquariums clean by eating the algae.
I don't know why I picked that word, but I don't believe in blessing people for sneezing, because I don't like it when people do it to me. If someone blesses me then I am, of course, obligated to say "Thank you." Now, all of this pointless formality has drawn out the whole event, which is a simple function of the body. I would rather go on with my life and not make such a big deal out of it all.

Gesundheit which means good health. or god bless. It appears many countries have similar because a sneeze was a sign that the someone may die from the plague. Like a tissue a tissue we all fall down in other words if we sneeze we may all die.

Depends, if it is someone I know or a stranger. If its someone I know, I say bless you, sometimes if its a stranger, I don't say anything. Sometimes I do. Just depends. If they are sneezing alot. I won't continually say the generally Bless you or GOD BLESS you. Heck, my hubby was sick one time and was sneezing alot. I finally got so sick of being polite, I said SHUT UP. We both had a good laugh out of it.

Why should you say anything when someone sneezes..?
If this is meant to be some sort of lame proof of your gods existence becuase some people say "bless you", then you will likely remain a gullible and simple minded religious fruitcake your whole life..
You are living a LIE..!!

I always say 'Bless you'.. No matter who they are or if I know them.
In my family though, we always say 'Bless you-tite' because apparently when I was little, I used to get confused between 'Bless you' and 'Gusentite' (german?)
I think I remember reading that people starting blessing you when you sneezed back in ye olde, olde days because they believed that when you sneezed, your soul popped out with it!! lol

Oh, God bless you!
(With good health, hoping that the sneeze is not a symptom of something more serious. I worry too much.)

I always say God Bless You unless it is my mom at which point I say God Bless You the first two or three times but then I say "enough already" and laugh because she sneezes over and over and over and it is funny. Also if it is my kids I say God Bless you and hen "Did you cover your mouth?" LOL

Usually "Bless you" This stemmed from when people believed that their hearts would stop for a split second and soul left their bodies when they sneezed and if someone blessed them, it would hasten their souls to heaven! Strange huh?
