I used to have this friend that I new for 5 months. His sister set us up and we started talking on the phone a lot. He lives in a different state than I do and he’s 6 yrs. younger than me. When we first started talking on the phone he told me he had “Social Anxiety Disorder” which didn‘t bother me. While being friends with this guy I noticed some signs and thought maybe God was speaking to me. We both had birthdays on the 7th, his sisters birthday was also on the 7th, and the very first e-mail he sent me was on the 7th. Plus my friends hockey jersey number was 98, the year I graduated high school. One time I was talking on the phone with my friend and we were discussing our favorite movies. A few days later his favorite movie was on TV. During our friendship we both thought we were soulmates because we had so much in common. We liked doing the same type of things, our favorite show was “The Wonder Years”, we both enjoyed children, quotes, poems, board games, traveling, we both were Irish, and our families were sort of similar. We both were Catholic too. We also had really good chemistry which he told me over the phone. As our friendship grew he was supposed to come out and visit me but it never happened. Maybe that was because he had “Social Anxiety Disorder”. Him and I drifted apart at the end of the five months because of his personal issues. Just before our friendship ended, he told me had Depression & Bipolar. I believe God was trying to tell me something while I was friends with this guy. What kind of signs do you believe God was trying to tell me? Do you think these signs were good or bad?

When I was friends with this guy and numbers started showing up in my life, I actually believed the meant something. I'm not talking about numerology!! I believe God sends everyone a message because he's speaking to us. Whether the message is good or bad? The things that happened in my life were not a coincidence either.

Why can't people stop putting me down for asking this question? No I am not crazy just because I'm catholic! I’m not reading into things either!! The only answer I like so far was written by "somethingtrinity". Everyone else here doesn't seem to know what I'm getting at!!! God doesn't believe in coincidences either!! God sends us messages which are signs. If your going to answer my question then don’t put me or my ex-friend down either!!

It may have been a time for encouraging one another. God brings people across our path for short amount of times and then we drift away. Others stay longer. I believe that you had a wonderful friendship because of all you had in common. I think now when you think of him you need to pray.

In my opinion you are looking at numbers to see a sign from God instead of praying and asking God to give you wisdom. God is not known for speaking to us through numerology. If He was speaking to you then He was probably telling you to show this person the same love that Jesus has for us. Anything more than that would have to come from a direct revelation of truth from God to you or if He gave someone a word of knowledge or prophecy to pass along to you.

These things are just coincidences. Sure, those type of similar interests help a relationship, but I think you can find common likes or similarities in any relationship you have. For example, I like traveling, children, board games, too. I'm sure a lot of people could say that.

I think, sweetie, that you met a good friend with whom you had a lot in common. He has mental health issues, and it would be a good thing to stay his friend, because, God knows, people with mental illness really need caring, non-judgmental friends. I think you should stay phone friends and enjoy conversation with one another. You don't have to ever meet to love one another like that. Perhaps God has shown you how wonderful people with mental illness can be so that you can become an advocate for them. Good luck figuring out through prayer what God wants you to do with this experience He put in your life.

I had tons of things in common with my last gf before I got married. It didnt mean anything because we fought like mad and only went out for like 4 months.
I know the whole "soulmate" thing is popular among women, but do realize there isnt one set guy God wants you to marry. God doesnt care who we marry, as long as its to a believer. Marriage isnt an eternal contract, only until death. Our work of preaching the Gospel is first and formost with lasting eternal consequences.
One helpful thing, pretend tommorrow you didnt love whoever youre thinking about marrying, look objectively at them like theyre youre brother or sister, examine their faults, then see if you want to spend the rest of your life with them.

To quote Mr. Vonnegut:
"At least the World will end, an event anticipated with great joy by many. It will end very soon, but not in the year 2000, which has come and gone. From that I conclude that God Almighty is not heavily into Numerology."
Take what you will from that.

a possible meaning with the numbers is that you both fit
each other. i have dealt with depression and in others
bi-polar. these are serious problems. what you have to decide in prayer is can You handle this man's handicaps.
ADONAI gives us signs and wonders so that we don't forget
the divine. read about these handicaps and pray about it.
do you also believe in miracles? maybe the LORD will
allow him to be healed through your love. ADONAI works
in many ways. don't listen to scoffers. YESHUA is Love.

It seems here that you already have some idea of what, allegedly, God is trying to tell you - and you are merely looking for affirmation of what you suspect this alleged message from God to be.
There's no way any of us can know the answer to your question. Quite frankly, there isn't enough evidence to lead me to believe God was trying to tell you anything. The fact even you are unsure of this alleged message's meaning seems to suggest there is no message to begin with.

Seven is definitely the symbolic number of God.
Seven days to create the earth, seven plagues, etc.
I would perceive that message, and yes it is one...it's a synchronistic connection. Everyone comes into our lives to teach us something. Be grateful you had the opportunity to spend time with him and let go and let God.
peace.

I recognize what you imply. Sometimes I slack off on my day-to-day prayers. After a even as, I too suppose spiritually "run down", I too believe it has the whole lot to do with me no longer praying in most cases. I believe, for plenty of humans, they do not discover simply how gift God is of their lives - till he is going away for a bit of even as. (God does not rather leave. He simply makes it suppose that means). Why does God do this? To preserve us on our feet and mindful of His Reality; His Presence. Yeah, I do believe God used to be looking to ship you a message; the identical one He sends me particularly as a rule, "Stop slumbering on the transfer and pray in most cases."
