do you know it with absolute certainty (like a fact), or is faith an act of trust in God, while there is still some doubt left over?

'Faith' (magical, wishful thinking) is a lame and pathetic substitute for 'evidence'.

Faith-based 'belief' (the internalized certainty that you are privy to the 'truth' pertaining to vital aspects of existence and reality) is a lame and pathetic substitute for 'knowledge'... in fact, it is the ILLUSION of knowledge.

Faith + belief ---> Self-delusion and willful ignorance.

'Belief' is an insidious mind-killer... it cuts one off from the open-minded and intellectually honest (willing to actively question and doubt one's own assumptions) consideration of alternative possibilities.

It is both. In a perfect spiritual world, Believing with absolute certainty, that is exactly how God expects our faith to be. But unfortunately, the way most of us believe, is with a sense of doubt. Yet we must not be discouraged about where we are at. we need to accept it, and continue to strive to grow more toward the way God wants us to be.

Faith is simply giving the unseen substance, and believing in God. So even though you may not see what you have prayed for manifest when you pray at that moment, but as you continue to believe and trust in God eventually it will.

Depends on who you're asking. Obviously, dedicated fanatics like suicide bombers and airplane hijackers had absolute faith. Others maybe not so much.

Faith overcomes all doubt... otherwise, it wouldn't be faith.... Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see... emphasis on the 'sure' and 'certain.'
