Spiritual image not physical image. The mortal man we recognize and see is not a reflection of God. Only after we reach a certain level of spirituality can we see the true creation.

Your body maybe small and frail, but that doesn't necessarily mean his is. What it does mean is that his image is of a man. We look like him, and I am sure that we have no idea or understanding how great his knowledge and power is. God just created us in his image. We were spirits who lived in heaven with him, there was the war in heaven, then later we each came into the world with a body.

The image that we are created in is His Spirit and not the body. The body will turn back to dust. When reading the Word of God you have to think Spiritually. When you do that you will not only understand it better put experience the power that God wants us all to have. When we allow the flesh to rule us we will experience the weakness that you are referring to. But if we walk in the Spirit you will experience the power that you are unaware of at this present time. Try it, unless you are to weak to make that choice.

The word image in this passage comes from the Hebrew word tselem pronounced tseh'-lem: meaning, resemblance; hence a representative figure, especially an idol:
We have creative abilities, we have emotions, we have the ability to make decisions on our own.
So does God.
We were simply made in His image in this awful body of sin I so despise. No disrespect to my God, but, this body of mine that lusts and gets angry and is tempted to ....well you get the picture.
I am my biggest problem. But , yeah!

According to the bible, we are made in Gods image, and Jesus was made through God. Gods image could mean a numerous amount of things. Gods image of how God wanted us to look like. Don't rely stock in trying to figure out the bible. Many have tried. Many have failed. Your job is to rely on your own faith. Live the best way you know how. If we, as mere humans, knew what Gods plans were, then we would be God himself. Leave it up to God. Don't speculate like many love to do. Just have faith.

A priest told me once that man was created in His Image but not His Likeness to remind us that we still need Him. Look at the bright side, at least God does not look like a lower form of animal...........Yahoo on!

A photograph of someone is an image of that person but the difference between that image and the original is infinite.

God cannot be explained in the simple terms you are seeking. Until we are in his presence, we will always have many unanswered questions. "In his image" MIGHT mean that we have emotions, free will, cognitive thought. If you notice, these things are not present in the animal kingdom. Hopefully, you will come to know Jesus Christ as your saviour and one day you will know the true answers to your questions.

Is a carbon copy ever really as good as the original? Besides we were made in his image not as his equal.

God is triune in nature...Father,Son,Holy Spirit and created man, similarly ;Body,Soul,Spirit(three in one)
Jesus is God,and as a God incarnate, embodied the fullness of the Godhead...God also lives though us in the person of the Holy Spirit and by regeneration of the spirit,we may glorifiy God,by Jesus the son.
