Why some hotels put Bibles on the rooms?

I don't know, considering that most tourists or even natives don't read the Bible in those hotels. You're not respecting other religions by putting Bibles in every hotel room: Buddhists would expect Buddhist texts, Muslims would expect to see the Koran?! Most Americans are no longer Christian, they're mostly ex-Christians, atheists, agnostics, Muslims, & Buddhists or Sikhs?!

I think it is caused some hotel managements received the Bibles freely from the christian association or the managemnt asked it to the christian association
The other reaon the managements wanted to serve their guests better by supplying the Bible in the rooms and the guests were satisfied for killing the spare time
In Indonesia where most guests are muslims the hotel managements put Qur'ans in each room and also sajadah for praying as a gentle gestures for their guests.Reading Qur';an
oftently for muslims is a best habit and they will earn a reward from God.The managemtnts of hotels in Indonesia also put the sign for Kiblat (the direction for praying) in each room..By this gestures the guests will be satisfied and they will come back again to the hotel when they need for it.

More recently, the Marriott hotel chain has also begun putting copies of the Book of Mormon in their hotel rooms.

These books are placed there for someone investigating their own faith or looking to learn more about general Christianity or Latter-Day Saint beliefs. Some also hope that travelers drawn to sin on long trips away from home will draw strength from the scriptures to avoid temptations that wouldn't arise at home.

First let us always consider the owner of the said hotel. In my opinion, it is presumed here that the owner of the hotel is a strong Catholic believer. They wanted to share the gospel of God to those who catered their hotels. However, it is there for those who are interested to read and it is not a must for you to compel it to read. It is there as a book of daily inspiration or spiritual guidance on you. At any rate, just ignore if you are a non-believer. I believe there is nothing wrong if bibles are present in hotels.

Because hotels/motels are popular places not only for visitors from out of the town, but for people who need a place to sulk about something that's happened in their life recently.

I think they put the bible there for comfort or just for the people who need one at the moment.

They do it to try and keep the amount of sin in hotel rooms down. It's thought if, people know there is a Bible in the room, that folks will feel that God is watching them, and they'll sin less, and hopefully not steal the towels.

Because the Gideon Society missionaries are so insistent - and the hoteliers haven't the guts to refuse. Any more than most people are prepared to think about what they really believe, and act on it - about almost anything.

As a consesion to those staying there. In a Marriott in Washington state we had an islamic holy book in our room. It is simply something for the patrons, in case they want it.
