If global warming does get much worse, the answer is probably yes. The problem wont' be temperature, per se. The average rise in temperature isn't that great.
But it will result in climate changes--and most of the current models say that in the American Southwest, that will mean an even more intense drought/hot climate pattern such as the region is now suffering from--only it will endure for decades. Given the water problems you mention--the region cannot sustain the existing population under those conditions.

Global warming may make the southwest wetter due to a permanent change in rainfall patterns.
El Nino weather patterns will become more common bringing more rain to the southwest.
Temperature patterns may change to bring higher winter temps and lower summer temps.
We are seeing this in the desert areas of calif.
Where i live the number of days with a temperature above 120 have dropped from a average of 20 days per year to 2 to 3 days.
Not every where will become dryer many areas that are dry now will become wetter and and areas that are wet now may become dryer.
and some areas that are hot now will become cooler.

No, because it will never get that bad. Never. Even if we keep polluting worse than we are now. The worst places will be low lying coastal areas. New Orleans, Venice and Holland will be flooded by rising sea levels if the warming gets really bad, but it will never get bad enough to make hot places too hot to live in. It just will not get that hot. It just won't.

odd, southern az had record rain last year. in fact, it was one of the 10 wettest.
another thing, before you blame global warming, you better check your facts.
there is no drought in new mexico. areas that are abnormally dry? yes.
i've said it before. people see something that just APPEARS abnormal and it's global warmings fault.

If it becomes bad enough, many will probably move north to cooler climates.
